Madelyn Watkinson has been a tireless volunteer at the Adams garden for as long as I can remember. She has shaped and molded the Adams Garden over the years and has touched many lives. Madelyn is a great friend to the College having given countless hours of volunteer work not only to the Adams Garden but to many of the gardens on Campus. Before John McFarlane joined our team on the campus Madelyn was working at the Sundial, the dinning commons, College Corner and many of the other flower beds on Campus. Moving here from Connecticut, her daughter, Barbara, and son n law, Hans, were both professors with the College of William & Mary. Madelyn a mother of four raised her children by herself which, now grown, have gone off into the world and made successes of themselves by her example. Madeline will be missed not only in the garden but by friends, avid gardeners, Alumnus, and many other people that she has met and gotten to know while living here in Williamsburg. I know that she will gone for now but her touch will still be here in the garden and let us hope she will come back to visit often! Congratulations on your retirement you have earned your rest Good Luck!
