Dear Neighbor,
I’m writing to you as a friend of Jones College Prep High School. Jones is a public selective enrollment
high school in the South Loop, serving one of the most culturally, racially and economically diverse
student bodies in Chicago. From Rogers Park to Chinatown to East Chicago, from Lakeview to Austin to
Garfield Ridge, our students come to learn, thrive and excel. The students’ achievement has repeatedly
placed Jones on US News and World Report’s list of America’s Best High Schools.
While Jones students depend on the school’s excellent teachers and programs, as a public school, Jones
relies upon contributions from parents, friends, and business owners like you to support those
programs. In fact, the school’s rich academic, artistic and athletic programming would not be possible
without this support.
That is why I’m inviting you to support Jones students by making a donation to the online auction for the
Jones College Prep spring fundraiser. We are looking for items including gift cards, merchandise, tickets
to sporting or theatrical events, professional and personal services, and hotel or travel certificates.
Items are needed by Wednesday, April 1, 2015 and they will be auctioned in April through a professional
online site. Our live event is on Friday, May 8, 2015 at The University Club. Certain items will be saved
for the live auction portion of this fun evening. Please fill out the attached donation form and return it
to Friends of Jones, c/o Jones College Prep, 606 South State Street, Chicago, IL 60605. Your name or
company will be gratefully acknowledged, and we will encourage all attendees and community
members to patronize businesses that support students of Jones College Prep. We are also offering
advertising opportunities during the online event for those companies who wish to join us as sponsors at
various levels ($500 to $2500). Please let me know if you would be interested in participating as a
sponsor of our event.
