ABOUT MUKTINATH
Everyone seeks freedom from the troubles of their daily life and seeks the Nirvana. For
those people Muktinath is the appropriate destination. The word Muktinath has been derived
from Sanskrit words. It is a combination of two words “Mukti” and “Nath” where “Mukti”
means salvation and Nath means God. So the meaning is clear the God of salvation is almighty
Muktinath. So duo Hindu and Buddhist devotees make their visit to this holy place for the
achievement of the Salavation or Nirvana.
It is one of the important pilgrimages in Hinduism. Situated at an altitude of about 3800
meters it resides on the foot of Thorong La Mountain pass. For Hindu Muktinath represents their
Lord Vishnu which is also known as Venkateswara which means the “lord who destroys the sin
of people and give them salivation” so it resembles the both Muktinath and Tirupati are
considered as same pilgrimage. For Buddhist the almighty is form of Lord Buddha. The pagoda
style structured temple is found snow clad during winter season.
There are 108 water spouts behind the temple named “Muktidhara”. The pilgrims make
bath in Muktidhara for achievement salvation and to wash away sins. Another significant
attraction of Muktinath is 2 water ponds named Saraswoti kunda and Laxmi Kunda pilgrims take
dip in these ponds to wash their evil Karmas. Jwalamai Temple situated at the south of
Muktinath temple also holds significance in this pilgrimage. There are many monasteries which
are also visited by pilgrims during their visit in Muktinath. The black stone fossils found in the
river kali Gandaki River is considered to be idol of lord Vishnu so it also hold important place in
heart of Hindu worshippers. Overall the visit to the Muktinath would be a spiritual and holy
experience.

Kathmandu Sightseeing & Fly to Pokhara: After Breakfast, Sightseeing of
Pashupatinath temple,Boudhanath stupa and Soyambunath temple and Fly to Pokhara
in the afternoon. Overnight stay at Hotel
Fly to Jomsom & Drive to Muktinath: Morning flight to Jomsom, and drive to
Muktinath by Jeep. After Muktinath’s Darshan & Puja drive back to Jomsom. Stay at
Guest House.
Fly back to Pokhara & Pokhara Sightseeing: Morning flight to Pokhara from
Jomsom and half
day sightseeing at David Fall, Fewa Lake and Bindabasini Temple. Overnight stay at
