Welcome to the IENE projects!
During the IENE 1, IENE 2 and IENE 3 projects,
partners from nine European countries developed
a European Model for Intercultural education of
nurses and healthcare professionals based on the
Papadopoulos, Tilki and Taylor Model (PTT).
IENE 1
During the Leonardo Partnership project "IENE 1",
the partners developed an informative guide, a
learning platform with learning materials and a
teaching model for the intercultural education of
nurses and healthcare professionals.

IENE 3
The "IENE 3" project is focusing on producing learning tools
which promote culturally competent and compassionate care.
Using the PTT/IENE model as framework, the partners from
six countries, UK, Romania, Nederland, Italy, Germany and
Turkey are creating tools, piloting them and collecting case
studies.
IENE 4
The ongoing "IENE4" project aims to change the
organisational culture by focussing on leadership and
developing role models to promote and support culturally
competent and compassionate care, enabling the leaders of
nurses and other health professionals , senior managers,
teachers and ward/team managers to develop their
mentorship and support roles in order to promote
compassionate clinical/caring environments and culture.
IENE 2
The Leonardo Transfer of Innovation project
"IENE 2" adapts and integrates this innovative
model in transcultural education of nurses and
health care professionals in four partner countries:
Belgium, Germany, Romania and France.
The project will also develop a tool to measure culturally
competent compassion.
