tners Welcome to the IENE projects! During the IENE 1, IENE 2 and IENE 3 projects, partners from nine European countries developed a European Model for Intercultural education of nurses and healthcare professionals based on the Papadopoulos, Tilki and Taylor Model (PTT). IENE 1 During the Leonardo Partnership project "IENE 1", the partners developed an informative guide, a learning platform with learning materials and a teaching model for the intercultural education of nurses and healthcare professionals. More information on: ienetools.wordpress.com twitter.com/IENE3_Project IENE 3 The "IENE 3" project is focusing on producing learning tools which promote culturally competent and compassionate care. Using the PTT/IENE model as framework, the partners from six countries, UK, Romania, Nederland, Italy, Germany and Turkey are creating tools, piloting them and collecting case studies. IENE 4 The ongoing "IENE4" project aims to change the organisational culture by focussing on leadership and developing role models to promote and support culturally competent and compassionate care, enabling the leaders of nurses and other health professionals , senior managers, teachers and ward/team managers to develop their mentorship and support roles in order to promote compassionate clinical/caring environments and culture. IENE 2 The Leonardo Transfer of Innovation project "IENE 2" adapts and integrates this innovative model in transcultural education of nurses and health care professionals in four partner countries: Belgium, Germany, Romania and France. The project will also develop a tool to measure culturally competent compassion. It aims to increase the skills of nurses and health care professionals for providing culturally competent and compassionate care to patients and facilitate their effective participation in the European labour market.
