www.galeriakatowicka.eu Press release September 18, 2015 RECORD-BREAKING RESULTS IN GALERIA KATOWICKA’S SECOND YEAR OF OPERATION An almost 30% boost in footfall and up to 24% bigger sales compared against the previous year – Galeria Katowicka sees steady improvement of its crucial indicators in 2015. The Katowice-based mall continues to generate record-breaking figures and promote the HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT right before its second birthday to be celebrated on September 18. In the second quarter of 2015, Galeria Katowicka’s sales results averaged a 21% rise against 2014. The same is true for the number of visitors. June turned out to be the best month, attracting 27% more prospective customers than the corresponding period in 2014. Over the past few months, footfall has been stable at the level of 1.2m monthly and 30-50k daily. “We are very happy about these results although they don’t really come as a surprise to us. Galeria Katowicka put its potential on full display last Christmas when sales were 47% higher than in the equivalent period of the previous year. Throughout the first quarter of 2015, the mall continued to record double-digit rises in terms of both sales and footfall. The ongoing trend of 20% and higher leaps began in March, with sales going 24% up. Since then, we have seen such results every month,” says Dawid Prymas, Marketing and PR Director at Galeria Katowicka. In the second year of operations, Galeria Katowicka has considerably bolstered its position in the Silesian retail property market, becoming a popular shopping destination for residents of Katowice and the whole region, who can spend their free time in an interesting way and participate in appealing events. “Galeria Katowicka’s success comes down to several factors, the key ones being adequate and flexible tenant mix, as well as the ability to attract new brands which are absent from all other shopping centers in the region. In 2015 the range of tenants available only here expanded with the opening of Silesia’s largest TK Maxx store, à Tab shop with household and interior arrangement items, and TIGER, a Danish brand which has been drawing huge numbers of local consumers from the very first day of its operation,” says Ewa Spychalska, Galeria Katowicka Director. “Another important factor contributing to our results is definitely a broad array of well-planned marketing activities,” she adds. www.galeriakatowicka.eu The portfolio of Galeria Katowicka’s tenants also includes Peek & Cloppenburg (a multi-brand store offering apparel by Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and others), iSpot, Zara, RTV Euro AGD, Reserved, Matras, SMYK, 4Faces, Duka, M∙A∙C and Estée Lauder. “Over the last few months only, Galeria Katowicka has seen a number of inspiring events, including an unusual fashion campaign with sales-support elements, endorsed by Joanna Krupa, with a prestigious modelling agency, Avant Models, acting as the project partner. There was also a month-long cooking festival during which customers could taste dishes prepared by Magda Gessler, Pascal Brodnicki, Kurt Scheller, Sebastian Olma and Paweł Albrzykowski,” says Dawid Prymas. Galeria Katowicka is also running the HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT, a unique cycle which makes it possible for local residents to see how much their region can offer in terms of culture and education, as well as to participate in the most interesting events. Within the holiday season only, Galeria Katowicka hosted nearly 100 various workshops, classes, experiments, meetings and performances. The HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT’s partners are the Silesian Theater, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Academy of Fine Arts, Katowice City Hall, the City of Gardens Culture Institute, Silesia Film Institute, Ateneum Theater, Bez Sceny Theater, Trip Theater, Renesans Gallery, Negatyw Gallery, Selekcja Music Arrangement and Production School and many other institutions, organizations and companies. Galeria Katowicka’s HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT has found itself among top 20 cultural projects in 2015, selected by the National Culture Center. Galeria Katowicka is the first ever retail mall to join the small and prestigious group of Polish cultural leaders. Starting from October, the Silesian Theater will have its official stage in Galeria Katowicka’s HIGHER LEVEL PROJECT zone. There are also going to be two TV studios for cultural programs (TVP and TVS), as well as a small concert and rehearsal venue of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra. The schedule of workshops, classes, gigs and performances is already full until the end of the 2016 season. ### Further information: Marta Stach m.stach@imagopr.pl +48 609 808 119 *** www.galeriakatowicka.eu Galeria Katowicka, a unique retail and transport center, is located in the heart of Katowice.
