Collage Workshop with Rose Besch
September 11th, 12th, and 13th, 2013 at the Red House Studios and
Gallery in Black Mountain on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9-4.
The price of the 3 day workshop is $175 for members and $185 for nonmembers.
In this workshop Rose Besch will explore the importance of composition
and the elements of design in a collage She will demonstrate initial steps
and use of paints and mediums. There will be attention to the proper
finishing of a work and critiques throughout the workshop time. Collage
papers will be provided along with a full sheet of Arches watercolor paper.

Rose Besch has taught art for 30 years in New York State Schools at all
age levels. She received her B.S. with an art major from the State
University of N. Y. at Buffalo and her permanent certification from the State
University at Oswego, N.Y., her hometown.
After retirement Rose could spend more time to pursue her passion for art
by taking numerous workshops from nationally known artists and teaching
some herself. She has since received many awards for her work and has
been honored with several dual and one woman shows.
Although she has studied most art media, her favorites remain watercolor,
acrylic, mixed media, and collage. Rose is a member of several art
associations in New York and Florida, but is most involved with the
Highlands Art League and the Yellow House Gallery in Sebring, Florida.
Her favorite experiences in retirement have been to travel with artist friends
abroad and in the U.S., but especially each year meet with them to paint in
the beautiful mountains of North Carolina
