What: Students and faculty from all UW engineering departments share their work with
students, teachers, families and the community.
When: Saturday, April 27th, 2013, 9am – 3pm (not including travel time, see below)
Where: University of Washington, Seattle, WA
Why: Explore engineering with over 125 hands-on exhibits, meet faculty & students, attend
information sessions for prospective students, and view cutting edge research.

Students and chaperones meet in the parking lot at the Jim Parsley
Community Center to board the bus

Bus is scheduled to arrive at JPCC at 6:00pm

What to bring:
 Food
o Snacks for the bus ride to Seattle
o Sack lunch OR money for lunch (students have a variety of food choices for
purchase on campus)
o Snacks for the bus ride home
 Warm clothes & comfortable shoes
o Seattle weather is unpredictable, so wear layers and bring a rain coat!
o You will be on your feet a lot, please wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in.
 Entertainment for the bus
o Headphones for music, a book to read, cards… it’s a three hour bus ride so bring
something to keep yourself entertained.
 $$ (recommended but not necessary if you are bringing snacks)
o For snacks, souvenirs.
What not to bring:
 Your laptop – please leave it at home where it is safe
Mark your calendar!
There will be a pre-field trip meeting on April 26th during
ADVOCACY to discuss details of the trip.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
1) If you would like to reserve your spot on this trip, you must turn in your field
trip permission form by Thursday, April 18th!
2) Please select the sessions you would like to attend; options are on the reverse side
of the permission form.
3) The first 40 9th grade students to turn in the permission form will be able to
attend.
