Fulbright: Important Dates & Details

affiliate with GWU, please go to #5 under "Program Information" on the first page of the online
application form and select “George Washington University, Graduate, DC.”

The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) will
receive Fulbright proposals and personal essays for draft review until 6 August 2015.

The internal deadline for Fulbright will be on 18 September 2015. By 5pm on that deadline date,
applicants will submit the following materials via the Embark system:
o Application
o 1 Page Personal Essay
o 2 Page Proposal (for Academic Study or Research) OR 1 Page Proposal (ETA)
o Letter of Affiliation (not required for ETAs)
o Official Transcripts from all higher education institutes
The required three recommendations (and language evaluation, if applicable), must also be
submitted.
If you are applying for a Fulbright-Clinton, you will submit the following materials:
 Application
 1 Page Personal Essay
 Statement of Grant Purpose
o Policy Fellowship Goals (2 pages)
o Situational Response (1 page)
 Official Transcripts from all higher education institutes
 Resume
The required three recommendations (and language evaluation, if applicable), must also be
submitted.
 OGSAF will be having an information session on the Campus Committee Interview on Thursday,
September 23rd at 4:00pm in Rice Hall, Room 304. It is optional.
4. OGSAF will have access to your three recommendation letters and language evaluation (if
applicable). (These materials must also be submitted by your recommenders/language
evaluator by the internal September deadline.)
5. Applicants will then be scheduled for day a mandatory campus committee interview. After meeting
with the committee, applicants will receive committee feedback via email and will have three to four
days to make necessary changes. Applicants will “resubmit” the application on the Embark system. By
5PM 13 October 2015 Fulbright will close the Embark system.
6. Applicants will be notified of their select/non select status directly from Fulbright the last week of
January 2016. Finalists will be forwarded on to their applicable country and will receive notification no
later than the beginning of May 2016.
