Zone de compétence : Pays Basque, Navarre, La Rioja, Cantabrie, Asturies et La Galice AWEX BILBAO The Wallonia Foreign Trade and Investment Agency (AWEX) is the Wallonia - Region of Belgium’s government agency in charge of foreign trade promotion and foreign investment attraction. The agency has a worldwide network of 105 Economic and Trade Attachés. AWEX is ISO 9001 certified since April 2002. As a foreign trade agency, AWEX carries out a mission of promotion and information for the benefit of both Wallonia and the foreign business community. Upon request, AWEX assists buyers, decision-makers, importers and foreign prospects. As a partner for investment in Wallonia Providing economic data on Wallonia and its export potential, the dissemination of information on products and services from companies located in Wallonia, the identification of companies in Wallonia for international collaboration, distribution of lists of exporters from Wallonia and its potential as an attraction for investment. http://www.awex.be/fr-BE/Pages/Home.aspx AWEX BILBAO participates in the Imaginenano event in Bilbao to help Walloon nanotechnology sector to stand outside and find partners. In fact, a recent study showed that in Wallonia micro technologies and nanotechnology are already used in numerous fields: Medical and Biomedical industry and Biochemistry Mecanical Industry and Mecatronics Instrumentation / Control Process Aeronautics / Space, Geophysics Domotics /Telecom / IT Automotive Security/Defense Logistics Proof of the importance of this sector is the constitution in November 2007 of the Cluster Mitech. MITECH Stands for « Cluster Micro-Technologies for Intelligent Manufacturing & Products »; it is a Walloon cluster, approved by the Walloon Government in November 2007. The cluster gathers more than 103 members: Enterprises, Research Centers, Centers of Excellence, and other partners. Members are active in the fields of micro and nanotechnologies, in mecatronics and in Intelligent Manufacturing. The cluster was created by the merger of a MicroTechnology group and an Intelligent Manufacturing group. Our ambition Our ambition is to promote and increase the use of microtechnologies in the Walloon Region, to help our members to develop micro and nanotechnologies as well as Intelligent Manufacturing and mecatronics and therefore increase their industrial activity, by means of partnerships through innovative projects. What is the perimeter of thecluster ? Keywords : Microtechnologies, Mecatronics, Intelligent Manufacturing and Nanotechnologies. The activities of the cluster include: - The various disciplines of micro technologies (namely: micro mecanics, micro optics, la micro electronics, microinjection, micro fluidics, computer science, micro systems, etc..) - and nanotechnologies as well as other industrial disciplines using micro technologies, such as: - Mecatronics - Intelligent Manufacturing. www.mitech.be Awex Bilbao will be present in Imaginenano –Booth 186/188 – with the following companies: Tel. +34.944.233.986 bilbao@awex-wallonia.com Fax +34.944.233.818 www.awex.es Bureau économique et commercial wallon à Bilbao. Nanopole constitutes a regrouping of a score of partners working in the creation of a die of manufacture of nanopoudres. The firms Magotteaux, Diarotech, General AlloysMetal, Technord Automation, Open Engineering, IndustrialRobotics Automation and Aseptic Technologies form integral part of the project. This regrouping of companies enters the project Marshall Nanotech which aims to found a single platform in Europe in the field of the synthesis of the nanopoudres. These last are mixed with various atoms which offeri nteresting properties to the products like paintings “solar panels”. As example, Technord, regional company specialized in the industrial plants with high value added, will bring its know-how to the many projects. The group besides has just developed 2 machines: Macrotronic B2 and UV. This technology makes it possible to make inactive the blood viruses. Products / Services Production of Nanopowder, manufacturing of production machines www.technord.be IT4IP IT4IP design, manufactures and sells Hi-Tec nano and micro membranes made from track-etching technology. The membranes are used within healthcare such as histology, diagnostic, Hi precision separations, drug controlled delivery, HTS, bacteria and virus detection, drug discovery, nano mold… The membranes are manufactured within clean environment (ISO 5 & 7) and it4ip is ISO 9001:2008 registered. www.it4ip.be AST A public agency from Wallonia (Belgium), manages and coordinates a network of partners : experts on the management of innovative projects, universities, research centers, intellectual property experts,... They all share the same goal : helping companies to boost their potential for technological innovation at a faster pace and more efficiently. http://ast.wallonie.be/ NANOQ NanoQ develops and manufactures metallic, non metallic and oxydes nanoparticles. To date, we are able to produce Gold, Selenium, Silver, Iron oxide and Titanium oxide particles with nanometer size. NanoQ is highly committed to research and development and always develops new compounds. Our products cover a wide range of colour and are produced with high optical density. www.nanoq.be MATERIANOVA Established by the Faculté Polytechnique de Mons and the Université de Mons-Hainaut - Belgium, the Centre of Excellence Materia Nova is a non-profit organization Our main competences are in the field of: Polymer nanocomposites These new materials consist in a homogeneous dispersion of nanoparticles (layered clay or needle-like clay, carbon nanotubes, polyhedral oligosilsesquioxanes or POSS, oxides, etc.) within a polymer matrix. Biodegradable materials The approach consists in creating biodegradable and compostable materials using methods commonly used in industry. Materia Nova has in particular created new composite materials based on polylactide (obtained from sugar beet or maize starch) and gypsum or clay with excellent mechanical properties. www.materia-nova.com Tel. +34.944.233.986 bilbao@awex-wallonia.com Fax +34.944.233.818 www.awex.es
