Turkmenistan Ashgabat International Airport
All services of the airport work in a round-the-clock mode and it creates additional conveniences to
passengers. Now at the international airport Ashkhabad are served planes of tens foreign airlines of
the world, carrying out both passenger, and cargo air transportations that allows to take off from the
airport practically for any city of the world. Ashkhabad - capital and the big city of Turkmenistan, is in a
southwest part of the country, in the extensive oasis lying in foothills of Kopet Dagh, on the very brink
of hot desert. The city was generated, generally, in the beginning and the middle of XX century, round
the Russian fortress constructed in 1881 at a crossroads of caravan tracks. Small Teke settlement
Askhabad has named the future capital. The basic center of attraction for tourists is huge east market
which is famous for a variety of the goods, bright Turkmen traditions and possibility of purchase of
traditional Turkmen carpets which carry here for sale from all country. The capital Museum of the
Carpet is considered unique this sort of construction in the world. There are several hundreds the best
samples of carpets of all times oldest of which dates to XVII century collected here. There is also the
biggest carpet in the world, area of which is almost 400 sq. m, and weight - more than a ton. The
exposition of the National museum of history and ethnography with a magnificent collection of the
ancient exhibits collected from all territory of Turkmenistan, including found in excavation of Old Nisa
is not less interesting. Round capital also many interesting places. Scientists assert that oases of
foothills were a place of formation more than one ancient civilization, and desert sand hide unique
monuments of history and culture. In 12 kilometers to the south-west of Ashkhabad situated the
archaeological site of Anau-Depe and a fortress of Anau (III century BC - III century lies. D.C.) and
also ruins of the similar medieval city with a mosque. In 18 km to the west of Ashkhabad lies the
unique monument of history - ruins of capital of the ancient Parthia, known now as Nisa (III century.
BC - III century. D.C.) . And the mountain footpath "Serdar Yoly" passes in the most picturesque
places of Kopet Dagh.
The well-known cave with huge underground lake Kov-Ata, the area about 3 thousand in sq. m. is
located nearby Uniqueness of lake .is that water in lake all year long has temperature nearby +36 C
and is sated by a large quantity of salts, from hydrogen sulphide, and to a boron, manganese,
bromine, etc. Now Kov-Ata has the status of national reserve.

THE ITEMS WHICH ARE NOT ACCEPTED TO TRANSPORTATION AS BAGGAGE
The passenger should not include in the baggage: Items which being onboard the aircraft can harm
the aircraft, persons or the property, including:

Explosives
-
The compressed gases
-
Corroding liquids
-
Oxidizing substances
-
Radioactive substances
-
Magnetized materials
-
Inflammable materials
-
Poisonous substances, with strong odour or irritating
-
And also liquids (except for the liquids which are in not registered baggage which are
intended for consumption during the trip of the passenger);
-
The items, which transportation is forbidden by laws, decisions, rules and instructions of state
structures of any country, on territory, from territory or through which territory transportation is
carried out;
-
Items which, according to the Carrier, on the weight, the size or under other characteristics
are not comprehensible to transportation as baggage; Animals, excepting dogs, cats and
other pets (domesticated animals) and birds that can be accepted to transportation at
observance of the positions stated in item 9.15. of the present Rules. The carrier can refuse
to transport any items or the substances specified above as baggage and can refuse to carry
out following transportation of any baggage if it will be revealed that it includes such items or
substances.
THE ITEMS ACCEPTED TO TRANSPORTATION AS NOT REGISTERED BAGGAGE IN LIMITED
QUANTITY AND WITH THE PERMISSION OF THE CARRIER
Passengers are authorized to take as not registered baggage in the limited quantity and with the
permission of a carrier:

Sanitary articles and medicine which can be necessary during flight;

The artificial ice used for packing and preservation of perishable subjects;

Alcoholic drinks in quantity no more, than it is authorized by laws, decisions, rules and
instructions of state structures of any country, in territory, from territory or through which
territory transportation is carried out;

Tobacco products and accessories to smoking, including lighter only with liquefied absorbed
gas;
-
Portable cylinders with the oxygen used exclusively in the medical purposes;
-
Portable cylinders with carbon monoxide, used for actuating of orthopedic adaptations.
EXAMINATION OF PASSENGERS AND BAGGAGE
With a view of safety of flights, protection of life and health of passengers and members of crews of
aircrafts, to aircraft security of SNS "Turkmenhovayollary" and other authorized bodies of
Turkmenistan is given the right to make baggage examination (including not registered baggage) and
personal inspection of passengers. Examination carries out at the airport or on the aircraft.
On the aircraft which is in flight, examination can be if necessary made irrespective of the consent of
the passenger. For the present point the aircraft is considered being in flight at any time from the
moment of closing of all its external doors after loading till the moment of opening of any of these
doors for an unloading.
At refusal of the passenger at the airport from examination the Carrier has the right to terminate the
contract of the international air transportation with returning of the sums paid for transportation. Items
which according to aircraft security of SNS "Turkmenhovayollary" or other authorized bodies of
Turkmenistan, can threaten to the safety of flight and are not allowed to transportation as not
registered baggage, are withdrawn from passengers. The list of such items is established National
Administration of "Turkmenhovaellary" and authorized bodies.
The items withdrawn at examination should be whenever possible transported the same flight to
which the passenger follows.
Order of transportation of the withdrawn items and their transfer to passengers in transfer or
appointment points are defined by corresponding rules and instructions of SNS "Turkmenhovayollary"
