Monday 3-2-15 Login to computer AM/Modified schedule The student can research a specific volcano to be used for multiple activities next week. TSW draw a specific volcano that they will research. TSW use volcanodiscovery.com as well as other reputable websites to gather information about the location, VEI, latitude and longitude, type of volcano, current status, eruption style, and most notable eruption from their particular volcano. TSW turn in completed research Web Quest for a daily grade. Daily grade given for completion of research. Tuesday 3-3-15 Regular Schedule Wednesday 3-4-15 Login to computer Students will begin reading a current event for BW. The student can research a specific earthquake to be used in multiple activities next week. TSW draw a specific earthquake that they will research. TSW use reputable websites to gather information about the epicenter (latitude & longitude), areas affected, Magnitude, date of earthquake, cost of damages, lives lost, and whether or not a tsunami was a result of the earthquake. TSW can read current events, summarize what they read , and “teach” the class ANTICIPATORY SET: with current events. Daily grade given for completion of research. Turn in assignment and log off of computers. *STUDY for Friday’s test *Complete research not completed in class on Monday and today. Regular schedule Each group will be assigned a different current event about either earthquakes or volcanic activity. TSW read the article independently. TSW complete a current event for. TSW then talk as a group about what they read and pull out the most interesting and important information to share with the class. TSW use white boards to present the info. To the class TSW teach each other about their current event and their classmates will jot down the information, or take notes, as their peers are teaching. The student will use knowledge of earthquakes and volcanoes to complete Unit test 3.3 ANTICIPATORY SET: REVIEW GAME TSW can show mastery of Earthquakes and Volcanoes by playing a review game. Students will be given an assessment grade for knowledge of earthquakes and volcanoes. Question and answers about study guide to clear up any misunderstanding before the test tomorrow.
