Dear Parents,
Y5/6 DT – CREATING A NETWORK
As the children continue to explore their topic, ‘Tomorrows World’, they will be creating their very own model of an
network, to understand how technology can be linked. We would be very grateful if your child could collect and bring
into school some junk which they will then use to create their Network model. The children may think of using a
selection of the following;





String
Ribbon
Cables
Small boxes i.e. individual cereal boxes, juice cartons etc.
Other small, common junk materials
The list above is a guide, however if the children would like to use other junk materials, they are more than welcome to
do so, please just be aware that the different items used within their networks will need to be small.
The children will be creating their networks during the week commencing Monday 18th January; therefore we would be
extremely grateful if the children can bring in their junk, in a bag with their name on it, as soon as possible.
