EHS Morning Announcements: 01/27/16 Student On-line Scheduling: Students may now go into their PowerSchool account and schedule classes for next year. We strongly encourage you to do so on your own. Log onto www.elyriaschools.org Click on the “popular links” in the middle left side of the screen. Click on the PowerSchool icon. Log in On the left side, click on “class registration”. You schedule by clicking the pencils by each course area. Make sure that you schedule both semesters of a full year course. Good luck! EHS Drama Production: What do typing monkeys, mayflies and Leon Trotsky have in common? They are all subjects of this weekend’s EHS Drama production, “A Wonderland of One Act Plays” written by author David Ives. These are short comedies written from a unique and quirky perspective. Our own Comedy Troupe will also be featured as the opening act. Student tickets are only $5.00, staff get in free by showing ID. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:30; or Sunday at 2:00pm. Attention Allies! We will be meeting today from 2:45 to 3:15 in room 203. We will be working on member recruitment and even planning. Please plan on attending. See you there! Basketball: Congratulations to the EHS Boys Varsity Basketball team on their thrilling 54 to 52 overtime victory over Brunswick last night in the EHS gym. This victory puts the team in a 3-way tie for 1st place in the Greater Cleveland Conference. Leading the way were Bo Furcron with 23 points, and Antonio Blanton with 19 points, including a clutch 3 pointer to send the game into overtime. The team travels to Shaker Heights on Friday. Great job Pioneers!!! Wrestling: Due to Marion Harding withdrawing from the state wrestling dual series, Elyria will now receive a bye and face the winner of Midview and Avon Lake tonight. This match will begin at 6p. Thursday’s match with Brunswick will start with the junior varsity match at 5p, followed by senior and parent recognition at 6p. The varsity match will start after the senior/parent recognition ceremony. Looking forward to seeing everyone there! GO PIONEERS! Bowling: On Monday, the Elyria High School Bowling Team traveled to Wellington to face North Ridgeville. The Varsity Boys lost by a heart-wrenching 1 pin, but are still 9-3 on the season. Matt Plumb and Nathan Hensley contributed 440 and 425 series, respectively. The Girls also fell short, but JV Boys brought home a win by 340 pins. The Pioneers face Amherst Steele today in Grafton. Attention Seniors: Josten’s will be here tomorrow, Thursday, January 28th in the student dining hall during all lunch periods. Every senior is required to purchase a cap and gown so please place your order with them on Thursday or you can also order online at Jostens.com. If you need to check the time of your appointment, the appointment sheets are on Ms. Steitler’s office door in the Main Office or ask a teacher, they have been emailed appointment lists.
