State Employees Credit Union Foundation Scholarship
2015-2016
The SECU Foundation established this two-year scholarship program to assist North
Carolina Community College System (NCCCS) students in achieving academic success.
The members of the State Employee’s Credit Union take an active role in assisting
organizations and communities across North Carolina and truly believe in “People
Helping People”!
For the 2015 fall semester, DCCC may award (2) scholarships. Each scholarship is
valued at $5,000 and is intended to be used for 2 academic years. Scholarships will be
distributed 2 times per year (Fall & Spring) for a maximum of 4 consecutive terms over 2
academic years.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify as a candidate for this scholarship program, an individual must meet the
following criteria:
• Be an applicant, who is a graduate of a North Carolina high school or a full-time
student, enrolled in an Associate Degree, Diploma, or Certificate program at a
North Carolina Community College.
• Be a U. S. Citizen and a resident of North Carolina under NCGS 116-143 and is
eligible for in-state tuition.
• Demonstrate financial need using the 2014-2015 Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA)
• Demonstrate Scholastic Achievement with a 2.5 or higher GPA on a 4.0 scale or
score 3,000 on their GED.
• Use the scholarship to pay for tuition, fees, textbooks, course supplies and
transportation.
•Be enrolled at DCCC at the time the scholarship is awarded and for the duration
of the scholarship and or completion of program whichever comes first.
Completed applications should be turned in to the Enrollment Services Office on the
first floor of the Mendenhall Building. Deadline is June 1, 2015.
