March 11th, 2015 Dear Parents, Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year, Granville County Public Schools will offer shuttle bus services to families transferring their children to a magnet school. The plan is as follows: Students attending a northern end magnet school (JTOH, Stovall-Shaw) will be dropped off and picked up at West Oxford Elementary School. Students attending a southern end magnet school (BSES, Creedmoor, Wilton) will be dropped off and picked up at Mt. Energy Elementary School. The drop off and pick up times for these shuttle buses has yet to be determined. It will be the responsibility of each family to make sure the students are dropped off and picked up on time. Parents who cannot pick up their students at the designated time can enroll their children in the afterschool programs at West Oxford and Mt. Energy. Please note that a shuttle bus will not be provided from the northern end of the county to the southern end of the county, and vice versa. Parents may choose a school in the opposite end of the county in which they live, but they will be responsible for providing transportation for their children. We understand this a change from this year’s bus service, but we hope you understand the need to transition to this shuttle bus plan in order to stretch our budget dollars further. If you have any questions, please contact me at 919-693-4613, or by email at hamrc@gcs.k12.nc.us. Sincerely, Chris Ham Director of School Choice Programs
