University of Washington Psychiatry Resident Research Program Our program has a research track for residents now supported by an R25 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health. This program is for residents interested in a wide array of research areas, from basic neuroscience to health services research. Our goal is to recruit four residents into the research pathway every year. Residents in this program will have gradually expanding research time each year; the typical participant will have up to 80% research time available for 16 months, scheduled in a flexible manner that fits their research training needs.
