The aim was to produce my own geological map on Geographical Information Systems (GIS) software and report to present all of the information. I chose this location because the geology of the area is very challenging and tested my descriptive and analytical skills, also the terrain of the landscape is very undulating providing physical challenge for me. Worcester Sixth Form College A-Levels 2011 Geology D Geography D Physical Education E GCSE’s 2009 10 GCSE passes including B-Tech Sport grade A* and Geography grade B Work Experience June – Sept. 2013 and June – Sept. 2014 DLF Trifolium, Hailes Farm, Trials Assistant DLF Trifolium is a Danish owned seed breeding company and I worked as a trials assistant through the summers on one of their “world trials sites”. The work was very varied from, practical trials work to lab preparation work for the new season. I worked either in small teams with the full time staff or on my own according to the tasks required. I really enjoyed the variation of tasks and the insight into other industries improving my core skill base. 2007 - 2011 Kumon, Teaching Assistant The main part was interacting with children and gives you a valuable insight into what makes them work well and how to develop their own skills. My main job was to organise files and record the results of the homework which meant that my written and communication skills were being improved. When working around children you have to be very professional and make sure that you display the right attitude towards them and the work at hand. This improved my leadership skills as some of the children could have been misbehaving and I had to take control of the situation. Interests Sport - I actively take part in sport and believe that it also keeps your mind healthy as well as your body. Rugby Union is my chosen sport and important skills I can bring over into the work place are dedication, team working and my improving leadership skills. Nature and the Environment - I enjoy reading and watching documentaries about the different environments across the world, David Attenborough was a massive role model as I grew up inspiring me to take on the subject Geology. I have a passion about this subject and am willing to invest more of my own time to progressing my career in Geology. Skills Computing. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Minitab, AutoCAD (small amount) and Oasys. Driving. Full and clean driving licence for 5 years with my own transport. Communication. Working at Kumon gave me the chance to interact with children and parents to tell them what was good or bad about how the learner was developing their mathematics skills. Adaptable. Working in swiftly changing environments and having to adapt to different pressures whilst remaining organised. Practical and common sense approach Training 19/2/15 Landmark Presentation on how to use Envirocheck.
