Fall is in the air, temperatures are getting cooler, and students and teachers are settled in with lots of learning is taking place. Students are learning about ancient civilizations, the emancipation proclamation, they are learning about numbers, whole numbers, negative numbers, expanded form, standard form and area and perimeter. They are learning to find the gist of the story and then write a well-constructed paragraph to explain the gist. They are learning about present tense, past tense and future tense. Students are fully immersed in learning every day. While the students have settled in to what is expected of them daily, there are still a few issues that we need your assistance with. Many, many students are still arriving late for school every day. Please help your student be ready for the day by having them arrive on time each day. The first bell rings at 8:10 and students are tardy after 8:15. On the opposite end of the spectrum we are also having young children dropped off outside the cafeteria as early as 7:15. We do not have anyone to supervise your students before 7:45 when they may enter the cafeteria for breakfast. Please help us to keep your students safe and don't drop them off before 7:45 each morning. 1 Melvin E.
