News Conference Today with Mayor Michael B. Hancock to
Recognize First On-Street B-cycle Station
Denver Mayor Michael B. Hancock will lead a news conference to highlight the installation of
the city's first on-street B-cycle station. The news conference will begin at 11:30 a.m.
today. The event will be held at Galvanize, 1062 Delaware St.
Additional speakers will include Galvanize Co-Founder & Managing Director Jim Deters and
Denver B-cycle Executive Director Nick Bohnenkamp.
The new station, one of 83 in the Denver B-cycle system, is the first station installed on the
same grade as the street (not on the sidewalk).
The effort is part of an ongoing push for bicycles and motorized vehicles to safely share
transportation infrastructure. The work involved significant collaboration between the
private and public sectors, specifically Denver Public Works.
