Both candidates running for these positions must complete full applications. A person running for the office of ASULV President, must have at least one semester of experience in ASULV. If you are running for President or Vice President please list your running mate below: Name: Candidacy Timeline/General Policies: Completed applications must be received by the Office of Student Life (First floor of the campus center) by Thursday, April 2nd by noon. Candidates for elected offices must each complete the materials (For example: if you are running with someone on a ticket for either President or Vice President – both candidates need to complete the application individually). Prospective candidates must be in good academic standing. Candidates for ASULV E-Board must meet and maintain a 2.75 GPA for both semester & cumulative. Candidates for ASULV Senate must meet and maintain a 2.50 GPA for both semester & cumulative. All candidates must not be on academic or social probation. Prospective and elected candidates must maintain both semester and cumulative GPA throughout their elected term of office beginning spring 2015. Grade Point Averages will be verified each subsequent semester while in office. All prospective candidates must attend the mandatory candidate meeting on Wednesday, April 1 at 10:00 pm in the President’s Dining Room. The meeting shall consist of an explanation of the Elections Code, overview of the Election’s timeline and a question and answer period. Failure to attend this meeting will result in your automatic removal from the ASULV ballot. Candidates will be able to begin campaigning on Monday, April 6th at 8am. Campaigning includes but is not limited to meeting with constituency groups, posting promotional flyers and posters, and coordinating campaign related marketing on campus. All materials for campaigning (inclusive flyers and posters) must be removed on Wednesday, April 15th by 4pm. For specific rules and regulations regarding campaigning during ASULV elections, consult the ASULV Constitution and Bylaws (copies may be obtained from the Office of Student Life or online at sites.laverne.edu/studentlife/asulv/documents-and-forms. There will be candidate debate/forum on Tuesday, April 7th at 10 pm in Campus Center Ballroom A ASULV Elections will take place on: Monday, April 13th , Tuesday, April 14th and Wednesday, April 15th Winners will be announced on Wednesday, April 15th at 5pm. Candidacy Platform Information: The following information will be shared with campus media outlets and on promotional information about the spring 2015 ASULV Elections. Please make sure that you include all of the information requested and that the information submitted represents your platform/ideas. Only one Candidate Statement is needed for individuals running as a President/Executive Vice Presidential ticket. 1. Candidate Statement - (statements should be no longer than 150 words and explain the key components of your platform: Goals, Ideals or Important On-Campus Issues). 2. Please list any and all clubs, organizations, or groups you have been involved with. 3. Submit a photograph of yourself no larger than 3 x 5. It is suggested that the photo be professional and represent you as a candidate. The photo will be submitted to the Campus Times for printing.
