Tuition Assistance Opportunities
1. Tuition Tax Credit – This credit is equal to 25% of the first $1000 of the total tuition amount
paid for each child (preschool-grade 12). The maximum credit per child is $250. Tuition Tax
Credit information is sent out to all families in January.
2. Archdiocese of Dubuque Our Faith, Our Children, Our Future STO (School Tuition
Organization) – Those families whose adjusted gross income fall below 300% of the poverty
level, and meet all local admissions requirements, qualify for assistance through this program.
This STO will offer tuition assistance to families based upon their identified need and the amount
of money available in the program, as determined by an outside agency. Additional assistance
from the school may be added to the total package of assistance, based on local criteria. This past
year Hennessy families received over $13,000 in STO funds.
3. Archbishop Hennessy Tuition Assistance Program – If additional funds are needed to help
offset your yearly tuition amount above and beyond what was allocated through the STO program,
families can apply for tuition assistance directly through the school. Applications are available
upon request.
4. Archbishop Kucera Tuition Assistance – Families who have qualified for Free/Reduced lunches
may be eligible for further tuition assistance from the Archbishop Kucera Tuition Assistance.
5. Archbiship Kucera Minority Grant – Those students who have minority status are eligible for
additional funds for tuition through this grant program.
6. SCRIP – Parents can earn 1% of each SCRIP purchase by making regular purchases at the
grocery store, gas station, etc. This money is then credited towards your yearly tuition amount,
thus reducing your overall tuition amount.
7. Free or Reduced Lunch Prices – Families may apply for Free or Reduced Lunch prices on an
annual basis. This program is offered through the State of Iowa and application information is
provided each fall as part of your family registration packet.
