Señor Gnomad Project
Due date __________________
You will create a vacation Power Point slide show for Señor Gnomad in Spanish.
He went to many
countries, saw many things and had many interesting experiences. You will randomly choose a country and
do a little research to find out a few of the places a tourist like Señor Gnomad would visit. Using the
Internet, find pictures of these places, insert Señor Gnomad in the photos, and write his comments
about these places for your captions. Most of your sentences will be in the preterite tense (“I went,”
“we saw,” “she ate,” etc…) because his trip already happened!
Required Elements: (Use this as a checklist!!)
 A “Bienvenido” slide that introduces your country
 A least 4 other slides that feature attractions from your country
 Preterite tense captions for each slide in Spanish that described what your
gnomad did or visited while on vacation.
 You must use at least 20 sentences and 20 preterite tense verbs. You will also
be graded on grammar and spelling. Take your time and do your best work. Use your verb
charts and binder for help.
 Use of the “gnomad” clip art
– you can copy and paste it from Mrs. Cobb’s website
 For maximum credit, you must present your slide show to our class
 All slides must have school-appropriate content – if you are not sure what is appropriate, ask
Mrs. Cobb. If your project is not appropriate, you will not be allowed to present it to the class.
 Be creative, teach us some things about your country, but have fun and be silly with it! All kinds
of crazy things can happen to gnomes. Slide animation is not required – but it can really enhance
your creativity.
 Do not use an online translator, a handheld translator, a Smart phone translator App, or any
other device that does the work of forming your sentences for you. You will receive a zero.
