Introduction Speech Interview and Introduce a Class Member 1. Work with a student that you do not know. Introduce yourself and spend time getting to know each other. Have a general conversation. Take notes – this is the “research” phase of your presentation. 2. Note characteristics that you perceive. Is this person shy, dramatic, bold, genuine, etc…? These traits are important and will add to your speech. Also, be able to recall a story or memorable event that tells you a lot about the person. 3. Once you have collected all the data begin to think about the best way of presenting the material to your audience. Can you categorize the information into 3-5 main body points? 4. Form an outline according to the proper speech format and include the information you have discovered. Walk through your speech and write up your outline on a separate sheet of paper. Please type this out for your speech day. Be sure that the information is accurate. Do not lose credibility. Have fun with this assignment and remember your audience.
