Peterborough Young Bird National
Saturday 10th September
We were at Peterborough for the final National race of the season the
convoy of 442 birds were released at 9.45 am into a south west wind
conditions were good up to the North East were the earlier heavy rain
cleared by mid day therefore prospects of a good fast race were very high.
The birdage was better than expected considering the heavy losses
experienced in all areas earlier in the season.
National Winner Adam Luke Dunbar
1st and 2nd Open 1st & 2nd Section B. A & E Luke of Dunbar. Adam
clocked his winners, a mated pair, at 13.58 to record velocities of 1767
and 1766 respectively they were raced on darkness and sent sitting on
overdue eggs.
The race winner a light checker cock is bred from his excellent 2007 blue

first federations to his name he was paired to a Norman Renton hen the
winner now named Lucky Lukey had won 4 positions in club and fed prior

good in the hand she is bred from Peter Virtues’ Jan Aarden lines and

Overall we had a good successful race to complete our season although
the west fanciers again had it tough but still managed good returns.
Well done again to our National winner Adam Luke and all Section
