2017 Canada Games Team Assistant Coach Applications for the position of Assistant Coaches for the 2017 Canada Games team are being accepted. All qualified, interested coaches are encouraged to submit their application to the Swimming New Brunswick office by Eligibility 1. Assistant coaches will be required to be, at a minimum, “Senior Coach” (Competition Development) trained. Those with old NCCP will be required to have credit for Level 3 Theory & Technical. 2. Must be a member in good standing of Swimming New Brunswick and CSCTA 3. Must submit a current negative Criminal record check/vulnerable sector check Team NB Criteria 1. Team NB must have French and English representation 2. Team NB must have representation from both genders Roles and Responsibilities The chief role of Assistant Coaches is to aid the Head Coach to ensure the successful preparation, participation and performance of Swimming New Brunswick athletes at the 2017 Canada Games. Assistant coaches will report to the Head Coach. Main duties include but not limited to: 1. Assist Head Coach and Team manager in the organization of training camps and 2. 3. 4. 5. functions. Demonstrate principles of sportsmanship, fair play and respect for rules. Attend all team activities and training camps and functions. Be knowledgeable on all aspects of the Canada Games technical package Travel with Team NB and stay in the Athletes village with Team NB 6. Assist the Head Coach and Team Manager with final reports to the board. Application requirements 1. Current resumé with two references 2. Copy of current criminal record check/vulnerable sector check 3. Letter of endorsement from applicant’s club 4. Letter of commitment that level three in training certification will be completed 90 days prior to the first day of the games with timelines to achieve that requirement if necessary.
