Dear Parents and Guardians:
Wednesday November 11th 2015 is Remembrance Day. As you are aware it falls on a school
day. Our affiliated Legion, Branch 101 requires our support on this day for their Remembrance
Day Service.
I would just like to stress the importance of attendance at this service to the cadets and the
members of the Legion with which they are involved on this day.
Some members of Canadian Forces were not much older than some of our cadets when they
went to fight for the freedoms we cherish today and 2824 Royal Canadian Army Cadets
involvement in this service is extremely important to the veterans.
Please give thoughtful consideration to allowing your son or daughter permission to attend this
important event. Most principals and teachers will be very accommodating to allow your child
to catch on missed work for this important event.
Please feel free to give a copy of this letter to your child’s school as justification for the time off.
If your son or daughter can attend, a community service volunteer hours can be signed by any
staff member at the parade.This year we would like your son or daughter to meet at Branch
101 Royal Canadian Legion at 3850 Lakeshore Blvd. West Toronto (Browns Line Loop) at
9:30 am Wednesday November 11, 2015. We will be finished at 12:30 after lunch has been
served.
Bussing will also be provided to and from 180 Derry Rd. Mississauga for Bravo, Charlie
and Junior Cadets, if their parent/guardian cannot bring them to Branch 101. The bus will
depart from 180 Derry Rd at 9:00am and return at 1:00pm.
ADVISE YOUR COMPANY COMMANDER IF YOU ARE ABLE TO TAKE THE BUS
AND OR ATTEND THE LEGION AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
