IGT Jerome “Jerry” Young Annual Scholarship Award
The Jerome “Jerry” Young Annual Scholarship Award is comprised of 1 (one) $3,000 scholarship
and 2 (two) $1,000 scholarships that will be offered to individuals from the gaming industry and
their family members interested in furthering their education. Applicants pursuing all forms of
education are eligible, including, but not limited to, accredited higher education institutions,
continuing education for working professionals and trade schools. The first scholarship will be
awarded in 2015 at the Annual IGT Public Gaming Roundtable in Cleveland, OH
Eligible family members include: mother, father, step-mother, step-father, dependent children
(natural, legally adopted or stepchildren), grandparents or step-grandparents.
Government employees and officials and their immediate families are not eligible for the
award.
APPLICANT CRITERIA:
This scholarship is available to those who have in interest in expanding their knowledge and
skills through additional education. All forms of education are eligible, including, but not limited
to, accredited higher education institutions (four-year colleges and universities, two-year
colleges, community college, etc.), continuing education for working professionals, and trade
schools.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS:





Applicants are responsible for ensuring they adhere to their respective jurisdiction’s
ethics and gift rules and/or laws
Completed application form
Resume, if not currently a full-time student in a high school or college program
Student transcript with current GPA, if a full-time student in high school or college
Essay
DUE DATE:
Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2015.
Scholarship recipients will be selected by April 17, 2015 and all applicants will be notified of the
result.
PAYMENT OF SCHOLARSHIPS:
Payment of scholarships is made in one installment on August 1. A check is mailed to each
recipient’s home address and is made payable to the school on behalf of the student. Recipient
is responsible for any potential tax liability as a result of this award.
