St Timothy’s Church Centre, Crookes Hirer’s Agreement - February 2015 1) The Hirer and their Responsibilities The Hirer: 1.1 Must be over 18. 1.2 Is responsible for making sure that they have all the relevant insurances and licences that may be necessary for their event. 1.3 Must be the responsible person for the purposes of fire safety legislation. 1.4 Must accept responsibility for ensuring that the building is suitable for the purpose of the event. If any loss or injury occurs due to the unsuitability of the building for the purpose hired this is the responsibility of the hirer. 1.5 Be responsible for the conduct of people in their group and their safety. 1.6 Will ensure that any rooms or facilities used are thoroughly cleaned and tidied after use and that all rubbish from use of the building is cleared off the premises and the grounds. 1.7 Will ensure that no fastenings of any sort (especially sellotape or blu-tak or similar) are used on the walls, ceilings or woodwork without prior permission. 1.8 Understands that no alterations are to be made to lighting, heating or any other fittings or equipment supplied. 2) Restrictions on use 2.1 The Church Centre may not be used by political parties or by any religious group promoting non-Christian doctrine. 2.2 No gambling is permitted (raffles may be exempt by arrangement). 2.3 The worship area is only available for hire by separate negotiation and agreement (worship area not to be used for selling products or services). If not hired separately the worship area is ‘off-limits’ to the hirer except in the event of an emergency (as an escape route). 2.4 Alcoholic drinks are allowed if prior written approval is granted. No bar for the buying and selling of alcohol would be permitted. 2.5 Events charging an entry fee are not allowed unless prior written approval is granted. 3) Further points 3.1 All breakages must be reported to the St Tim’s Rep and all accidents must be reported and recorded in the accident/incident book located in the church office.
