Central Solutions is a leading provider of Microsoft based business intelligence products and services.
The company focuses on two main areas
-
an expanding professional consulting business serving both public and private sector clients in
Ireland and the UK and
an established R&D centre focused on the development of a suite of decision support tools for
water management in municipalities and large industrial facilities.
Due to recent business growth, Central Solutions we are looking for a Business Intelligence Practice Lead
to join the senior management team at Limerick HQ. This represents an opportunity for the right
candidate to become part of the top management team in an expanding Irish enterprise with a deep
entrepreneurial culture and entering an exciting international expansion phase.
Areas of Responsibility:

Responsible for contributing at a senior level to the strategic development of Central Solutions
and delivering against company growth plans with primary responsibility to develop the area of
Business Intelligence solutions and associated products based on the Microsoft BI suite.

Responsible at a project level for solution envisioning, design and delivery working with the
Central Solutions team.

Liaise with key clients on project requirements, solution development and deployment as well
as post Go-Live supports
Skills
Applicants are required to have a minimum of an honours degree in a computing, electronics
engineering or related discipline as well as a postgraduate qualification and/or significant relevant
Industrial experience. The candidate will need to have experience of leading software development
and/or web development projects in industrial environments.
Candidates must demonstrate the following:

Familiarity with standard software development life cycle models including agile
methodologies, with a particular focus on the System requirements, analysis and design
phases.

Strong solution architecture design and product development skills (SQL, SSIS, SSRS,
SharePoint).

Familiarity with current developments in the area of software and in particular distributed
computing technologies such as Web Services, XML, SOA, etc.

Experience of integrating multiple enterprise data sources (BMS, ERP and
Sensors/Instrumentation) with Microsoft Business Intelligence platforms

Ability to exercise a degree of innovation and creative problem solving.

Clear, logical and concise written and oral communication skills.

Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The following skills would be desirable:

Track record in development of data analytics and high volume data handling applications

Industrial Automation and familiarity with integration standards such as OPC

Familiarity with utility management solutions and methodologies in industrial environments

Self-motivation and an ability to drive the technical direction of the project guiding team
members.

Experience of implementing software design patterns in an industrial environment.

Middleware integration experience, (Microsoft Biztalk, IBM Web Sphere, Oracle WebLogic,
Jitterbit or others)

Familiarity with sensor integration platforms.
