Pre- Qualification Scope For Facilities Maintenance and
Management for Stations, Railway Depots and Railway TSMG
Accommodation
Background
Saudi Railway Company (SAR), is a private company created and owned by the Public
Investment Fund of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (PIF) in 2006 to develop and operate over
of 2,750 Km of North-South Railway.
Saudi Railway Company (SAR) started from 2006 preparing and constructing its
infrastructure facilities for the North South Railway. Its objective to deliver phosphate and
bauxite freight from mines to Ras Al Khair In addition, SAR are to run a passenger service
from Riyadh Station to Quaryat.
The North South Project comprised 20 locations which included SAR’s Corporate
Headquarter in Riyadh, Passenger Stations, small offices, ware houses and accommodation
buildings as following:
1. Riyadh Passenger Station, Mosque and Head Quarters
2. Five Passenger Station & Mosque Works locations at:o Majmaah Station
o Qassim Station
o Hail Station
o Al Jawf Station
o Quaryat Station
3. Depots including
o AL Nariyah Depot and Workshop (service passenger trains)
o Riyadh Depot (service passenger trains)
o Hail Depot (yellow plant)
4. Track& Signaling Maintenance Gangs’ Accommodation (TSMG)
o 15 accommodation facilities are situation throughout the network along
the North South Railway infrastructure
Due to the number of buildings and equipment SAR would like bidders to consider
submitting proposals for any number or all of the following contracts. Contractors providing
specialist services listed below are also invited to bid for their specialism:
1) Stations: All stations to be included in one contract.
2) Depots: all depots to be under one contract and with consideration of specialist
services procured separately.
3) TSMGs: All TSMGs to be under one contract
 Passenger Stations:
The details of scope of the Facilities Maintenance & Managements required at passenger
stations is summarized below.
The works of Facility Maintenance & Managements is required for all stations providing
passenger line services on the North-South Railway from Riyadh to Haditha (Jordan Border).
All stations have the same modular design and are located in Riyadh, Majma’ah, Qassim,
Hail, Jawf, and Qurayat. Each of stations is include a Passenger station and mosque building
and support facilities and including M&E works and other related activities.

o Reverse Osmosis Water Purification System
o Potable and Cooling Water Storage, Pumping and Distribution
o Wet Fire Main and Associated Pumps, Pipework, Hydrants and Valves
o Plumbing, including all Sanitary Appliances and Fittings.
o Wastewater and associated drainage and pumping systems
o Water Wells and associated Pipework, Pumps and Valves.
o Stand-By Generators – Maintenance and Refueling.
o Air compressors and associated pneumatic air lines, hoses and couplers.
o Building Management System (BMS) including, but not limited to,
transducers, RTU’s, Interface devices, Central server/s and VDU/GUI, Web,
e-mail and mobile device connectivity.
 Electrical Maintenance works
o Low, Medium, & High Voltage Distribution Equipment and Systems.
o Fire Alarm/Detection System
o Security/Intruder Alarm Systems
o All Internal and External Lighting
o All Internal and External Fixed Wiring and Associated cable containment and
Outlets
o UPS, including Batteries
o Incoming Electrical Supplies and Stand-By Generation Automatic ChangeOver Systems and Equipment
 Structural Maintenance, Steel work & Repair
o All building Access Doors, locks, handles and hinges, including Maintenance
Shed Motorised Roller Shutter Access Doors
