Sunil Kumar encouraged the APS members attending the meeting to submit papers to the Stochastic Systems journal published by INFORMS Applied Probability Society in co-operation with IMS. 11. Marty Reiman is the co-chair of 2011 INFORMS APS meeting which will be held from July 6--8, at KTH (Royal Institute of Technology) campus in Stockholm, Sweden. Abstract submission deadline is March 1st, 2011. The conference website is http://www.informs.org/Community/Conferences/APS2011 12. Sunil Kumar has mentioned that APS was approached by Springer to participate in two encyclopedias. The first concerns StatProb, a free online encyclopedia of statistics and probability. APS was invited to join the Editorial Board. Springer will host the site and ten societies so far have agreed to form the editorial board. While there is no financial burden expected on APS, APS will need INFORMS permission to sign the contract. Tom Kurtz and Tom Liggett have encouraged APS to join the Editorial Board of this encyclopedia. The second concerns a hardcopy encyclopedia/handbook. The model here would be that APS would nominate an Editor-in-Chief, and the Applied Probability Trust would appoint another. Soren Asmussen has agreed to be one of the main editors of the encyclopedia. APS would bear no financial liability in the project. In turn, Springer would give APS some of the royalty income from this endeavor. APS will again need INFORMS permission to sign the contract. Members present in the meeting discussed the possibility of joining these two options and voted to participate in option 2. 13. Cathy Xia announced that there will be a INFORMS regional conference at Ohio State University, August 1-2, 2011. The conference website is http://meetings.informs.org/RegionalMidwestern2011 14. Sunil Kumar announced that Shane Henderson is the new chair of APS. The society thanked Sunil Kumar for his years of service as APS chair. 15. The meeting was adjourned at 7:15.
