Payment of the course is to be paid along with this form in: cash /cheques/BACS, for the
sum of the course. Unless prior arrangements of payment have been arranged with
Gemma’s full Knowledge.
Forms & payment must be received no less than 2days before the class to secure your
place on the class course. Please return the form asap to avoid disappointment as classes
are limited to 6 dogs per class & is on a first come first book basis.

Terms & Conditions
Please note that classes are NOT the place for severe behaviour issues such as aggression
towards people, children or other dogs, in home severe concerns such as separation
anxiety & traumatic fear or stress episodes.
If you feel your dog fits into one or all these categories or you are unsure, please contact
Gemma to arrange a 1-2-1 private consultation in your home were Gemma will help you
remedy the problem for the better. If your dog progresses well in 1-2-1 sessions Gemma
may recommend a class appropriate for you to attend in the future.
Classes







Puppy classes cut of age is 5month old, Adult class start at 6months.
Classes are run with a maximum limit of 6 dogs per class to ensure everybody gets
fair support.
Classes run with a minimum of 4 people to ensure that the dogs receive the benefits
of socialisation practice. If a class drops below this number the class maybe
rearranged or depending on the circumstances cancelled. If the class is cancelled
then notice will be given asap and a refund of that class payment will be given.
Classes are fun and easy & are not designed to be tedious. Learning & training is
force-free & physical manipulation free, positive only & reward based, to ensure
your dogs learn efficiently, easily & safely.
Upon registration booking you are confirming attendance for the full course. If you
cannot make a class please let Gemma know in advance & she will make alternate
arrangements for you to ensure completion.
All efforts are put in place to ensure yours & your dog’s safety during the class.
However clients are responsible for themselves, children & their own dogs during
the classes, regarding health & safety. It is understood that Gemma Stephen or the
venue do not hold responsibility or blame for personal injury or damage/ loss to
personal property during the duration of the classes.
Children are welcome here at the classes & are encourage to participate in class.
Clients are responsible for their children at all times & responsible for their
behaviour & must keep them under strict supervision. It is important to remain
focused on your dog’s learning at the same time as supervising your children. You
agree that your children will not disrupt the learning process of the dogs. If children
are disruptive Gemma reserves the right to ask the parents to not bring the children
to class next time. Classes are best suited for children over 5, children under 5 may
attend after discussion with Gemma & upon Gemma final decision if a second adult
is present.

Dogs




Puppys must have had all required vaccinations & the veterinarians all clear to
attend classes or go outside. If you are unsure when this time is please contact your
local vet to discuss.
Some dogs are not suited to a class environment or are not comfortable, it is new &
unusual. Please approach and discuss your options with Gemma as she will make
alternate arrangements for you to suit your needs & provide you with a space item
to signal to other members of the class that your dog requires more time & space
away from others to learn.
Gemma has experience with deaf dogs & people with mobility disabilities. Discuss
your concerns & situation with Gemma & she will make alternate arrangements for
your needs during class.
Clients are responsible for cleaning their own dog’s toileting accidents immediately.
It is important to maintain hygiene of the venue for other users & for the dogs
mixing to prevent the spread of illness or disease.
Rules





Puppys must remain on lead at all times & separate from other puppys until stated &
instructed by Gemma Herself.
Dogs must remain on a lead at all times & away from other dogs until stated or
instructed by Gemma herself.
Any accidents or injuries must be reported to Gemma ASAP
Gemma does NOT condone the use of the following equipment & they are NOT
welcome to be used in these classes:
Choke Chain collars /check chain collars/ Prong collars
Flexi Leads
Electronic collars that’s spray or make sound or electrocute
No equipment that causes pain or discomfort to the dog
Gemma has the right to refuse the use of equipment she feels is unsafe or inhumane
Classes do NOT condone the use of Harsh punishment or punitive techniques in
teaching a dog to learn.
Use of violent physical contact, hitting, poking, pinching, biting, pinning a dog on the
floor or ground, choking, spraying, kicking, pack leader/ top dog methods to show
control or pushing a dog into positions or whipping are NOT permitted in these
classes at all! If Gemma witnesses anything noted above or anything which she
deems as inhumane treatment she reserves the right to dismiss them from class
without refund.

Cancellations & Missed classes
If you need to miss a class due to holidays if you let Gemma know the date before
the course begins you will not have to pay for that missed class. If Gemma is made
aware once the course has begun that you need to miss a class, due to last minute
holidays or illness I am afraid there will be no refund for that missed class due to
overheads & costings to run the course for numbers given.
Cancellations of the full course itself made 2weeks in advance of course start date
have a full refund
Cancellations of the full course itself made 1 week in advance of course start date
have a 50% refund of amount paid
Cancellations of the full course itself made less than 1week then the class start date
a refund is NOT available due to costings & overheads to run the course for the
numbers given.
What extra items I need to bring to class :







Poo Bags
Normal Collar & Lead, No chains or flexi leads. (Harnesses ARE allowed especially
for breeds such as bulldogs etc preferably a harness where the lead attaches to the
chest not the back (it is optional & they can be bought by Gemma directly) & haltis
are allowed but they will be encouraged to be removed with progression)
a blanket your dog can lie on (you can bring the dogs bed if it is appropriate, no
crates)
A clicker
Food (Measure out your dogs daily feed in the morning & bring a portion of the
kibble to the class to use for treats, or use sausage, hot dogs, cheese or chicken) try
to avoid packet treats due to health but this is not compulsory not to use them.
Your dogs favourite toy & a kong type toy
Pen & paper to take notes if necessary.
Any other items Gemma will inform you to bring to class if needed.
A welcome information sheet will be sent to you upon receiving your form &
deposit.
