Niceville High School Course Syllabus Instructor: Jacqueline Blow Course Title: English II Course Number: Credit: 1.0 Course Description: The purpose of this course is to provide grade 10 students, using texts of high complexity, integrated language arts study in reading, writing, speaking, listening, and language for college and career preparation and readiness. Homework Policy: Late homework will not be accepted due to the fact that the class goes over the information the following day in most cases. Exceptions can be discussed when there is an issue. Late Major Assignments: 20 points are deducted from final grade for every day late. Exceptions can be discussed when there is an issue. Essay Policies: In addition to a hard copy, all essays will be submitted to www.turnitin.com. A grade of zero will result if a paper is not submitted online by the deadline. The student computers in my room may be used for this process, and I am more than willing to assist. ** Extra Credit, if applicable, is not given to anyone with missing or incomplete work. Miscellaneous Information: Students should refer to all policies outlined in the NHS Student Handbook and the Code of Conduct provided by the Okaloosa County School District. All make up work must be completed within 5 days. It is student’s responsibility to look up make-up work on calendar or ask for it. I am available after school or by email for help or questions. Please ask if you need help. Parent conferences can be set up through the guidance office. We use many websites and apps in this class. Keep passwords on you at all times. Please keep binder neat and organized in the order given above. This syllabus must be shown to parents and then placed in front of class binder.
