Job Function:

















Provide triaging care to all cases- Red zone, Yellow zone, Green Zone
To provide immediate care for emergency cases as well as outpatient treatment and
procedures.
Performing nursing procedures such as cannulation, IV therapy, blood taking, catetherisation,
insertion of Ryles tube and injections for patients.
To check, administer and record the administration of prescribed drugs.
Responsible in managing Code Blue in the event of Code Blue including assisting intubation.
To carry out all medical officer or consultant’s prescribed treatment to the patients, to
observe and record all the condition of patients and accordingly of any adverse event to the
medical officer or Nursing Manager.
To plan, provide and evaluate nursing care and treatment, or as instructed by the Nursing
Manager.
To take reasonable measures to ensure safety of patients and to report all accident/incidents to
the Nursing Manager.
In-charge of ambulance services and ensuring that the ambulance is well equipped and
functioning. In charge of arranging ambulance driver, porter and escort nurse for all
ambulance cases.
Handling and coordinating transfer cases to and from hospital.
In-charge of body hold and release of burial permit to the deceased family member/ next of
kin according to policy and procedure.
To document and ensure accurate nursing records of patient are kept and filed accordingly.
Supervision and orientating junior staff nurses in the department.
To participate in committees and meetings, if necessary and to establish effective
communication within the ward and interdepartmental teams in the hospital.
Reports and investigates complaints, accidents and incidents promptly to Nurse Manager in
accordance with the hospital policy.
In-charge of monthly statistics in the department- types and number of cases seen in the

warfarin, insulin, IV Tridil and IV Dopamine.
