The South Central NE USD #5 Board of Education met in a regular session on
Monday, August 18, 2014 at Sandy Creek. The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by roll call vote. Cheryl Brockman, Phillip Brockman, Dwayne Buescher, Ethan
Epley, Donita Furman, Randy Harms, Ann Lindvall, and Kim Story present. Brian
Shaw, Lance Williams, Patrick Dunn, and Francis Schroer were absent.
Motion by Brockman, P. second by Buescher to approve absent members: Motion carried: 8-0.
Motion by Story, second by Harms, to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried: 8-0.
Motion by Brockman, C., second by Story, to approve the August claims as presented in the amount of $599,420.59 from the General Fund. Motion carried: 8-0.
Motion by Story, second by Brockman, C., to approve the consent agenda. Motion carried: 8-0.
Monthly reports consisted of: Jeff Kenton, Principal’s Report, Amanda Skalka,
Curriculum Director’s Report and Randall Gilson, Superintendent’s Report.
Motion by Story, second by Williams, that the Board of Education of the South
Central Nebraska Unified School District #5 approve the contract with ESU #9 for
Special Education services for $169,857.27 for the 2014-2015 school year. Motion carried: 8-0.
Motion by Harms, second by Buescher the Board of Education of the South Central
Nebraska Unified School District #5 approve the ESU #9 Supplemental Services contract of $11,097.60. Motion carried: 8-0.
Brian Shaw arrived at 8:40.
Motion by Shaw, second by Epley, moved the Board of Education of the South
Central Nebraska Unified School District #5 adopt the amended increase of the
Student Fee Fund Budget from $30,000 to $59,000. Motion carried: 9-0.
Motion by Harms, second by Brockman, C., that the Board of Education of the South
Central Nebraska Unified School District #5 adopt the amended increase of the
Lunch Fund Budget from $548,649.23 to $620,250. Motion carried: 9-0.
