Decision taken by the Executive Body at its twenty-ninth session, December 2011, which contains
requests to TFEIP (Document ECE/EB.AIR/113/Add.1)

Decision 2011/6 Compliance by Estonia, Germany, Italy and Latvia with their obligations under
the Protocol on Persistent Organic Pollutants (refs. 2/10, 10/10 and 11/10)
5. Requests the Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections of the Cooperative Programme for
Monitoring and Evaluation of the Long-range Transmission of Air Pollutants in Europe (EMEP), in
accordance with paragraph 3 (c) of decision 2006/2, to review the emissions data provided by Estonia,
Germany, Italy and Latvia in order to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data;

Decision 2012/17 concerning compliance by Estonia, Germany, Italy and Latvia with the
Protocol on Persistent Organic Pollutants (refs. 2/10, 5/10, 10/10, 3/10 and 11/10)
8. Requests the Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections of the Cooperative Programme for
Monitoring and Evaluation of the Long-range Transmission of Air Pollutants in Europe (EMEP), in
accordance with paragraph 3 (c) of decision 2006/2, to support the Implementation Committee as
necessary in its further consideration of these cases, including by reviewing the emissions data provided
by Estonia, Italy and Latvia in order to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data;
9. Also requests the Task Force on Emissions Inventories and Projections to report its findings on the
reviews carried out in accordance to paragraph 8 above to the Committee by 1 August 2013;


Persistent Organic Pollutants (ref. 14/10)
4. Requests the Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections, in accordance with paragraph 3 (c)
of decision 2006/2, to specifically review the emissions data for PAHs and dioxins/furans provided by the
Republic of Moldova in order to ensure the quality and accuracy of that data;
5. Requests the Task Force on Emissions Inventories and Projections to report its findings on the review
carried out in accordance to paragraph 4 above to the Committee by 1 August 2013;

The Chair of the Implementation Committee underscored that, with respect to the referrals of
Estonia, Italy, Latvia and the Republic of Moldova, the Executive Body was invited to request the Task
Force on Emission Inventories and Projections to review the reported persistent organic pollutants
(POPs) emissions in question, considering the doubts those countries had expressed regarding the
accuracy of their reported data.”

Reiterates its request to the Task Force on Emission Inventories and Projections, in accordance
with paragraph 3 (c), section IV of the Annex to Decision 2012/25, to specifically review the emissions
data for PAHs and dioxins/furans provided by the Republic of Moldova in order to ensure the quality and
accuracy of that data;
5.
Requests the Task Force on Emissions Inventories and Projections to report its findings on the
review carried out in accordance to paragraph 4 above to the Committee by 1 August 2014;
