Continental CST Showcases Comprehensive Specialty
Tire Portfolio at CeMAT Asia 2015

Shanghai / Hanover, 27 October 2015. Continental Commercial Specialty Tires goes Asia: The
international tire manufacturer and supplier from Hanover, Germany, showcases its innovative
specialty tire portfolio at this year’s CeMAT Asia. From 27 to 30 October 2015, Continental CST
displays, among others, its robust solid tires Continental SC8 and SC18 at the leading trade fair
for materials handling, automation, transport and logistics in Shanghai. “With over 40.000 sqm,
this year’s CeMAT Asia has the biggest display scale in its history underlining the growing
importance of the intralogistics industry in Asia”, says Tony Cai, Sales Manager
Continental CST China. “With our customized tire solutions, we strive to offer our customers
high-performing, but also long-lasting products which perfectly fit their local requirements.” The
business unit will display its innovative product portfolio in Hall W1 at booth C2-2 at Shanghai
New International Expo Center.
Long-lasting tires with three layer technology: Continental SC8 and SC18
With the Continental SC8 and SC18, the tire manufacturer presents two proven solid tires based
on the company’s innovative three layer technology. It offers a highly cut and wear resistant tread
compound and a robust sidewall construction for a long service-life and long operation turns. The
robust solid tire Continental SC8 still is, one year after its successful launch at the trade fair, one of
the most compact solid rubber tires available on the Asian market. With an extra deep tread
pattern of up to 54.4 mm, the tire offers an outstanding durability and a high performance. The
proven zig-zag design of the tread pattern ensures excellent traction on both uneven and smooth
surfaces. For good cornering stability and a long service-life, tread block stabilizers are used.
Furthermore, these stabilizers offer excellent stiffness of the shoulder area. The tire can be

-2mounted on nearly any vehicle type while offering a maximum body-to-tire clearance. This results
in a high flexibility for fleet managers.
The Continental SC18 is the right choice for customers looking for a premium tire solution. Due
to its heat-tolerant compound, the high-quality product ensures a high mileage as well as a
smooth and slow tire wear even in harsh applications. The robust construction and strong
sidewalls guarantee a high durability and resistance to damage and thus a long service-life. The
rectangular bead technology also offers a high comfort level. Thanks to its low rolling resistance
and low energy consumption, the Continental SC18 tire is highly economical and environmentalfriendly.
Field-proven tire solutions offer highest flexibility in various applications
On display are also the proven Continental CST tire solutions CSEasy SC20, Continental RV20
and ContiPT18. The Continental SC20 is equipped with the revolutionary mounting principle
Continental CSEasy. Due to a special adapter, the CSEasy can be fitted quickly and easily
without a press and a mechanic to all Lemmerz-style rims. This offers greater flexibility and
lower costs for users. In addition to its ease of mounting, the CSEasy construction provides a
low rolling resistance, high mileage and excellent driving stability.
Continental CST also presents the ContiRV20: The pneumatic tire offers high driving comfort,
extraordinarily high mileage, good traction, and low energy consumption. The innovative rubber
compound also ensures outstanding grip and traction on all surfaces. This means shorter
stopping distances, even on slippery or sloping surfaces, which in turn improves the safety of
the driver and load. The ContiRV20 is available in two versions: The ContiRV20 Velocity and the
ContiRV20 Industrial. The ContiRV20 Velocity tire is perfectly suited for high-speed and longdistance applications such as tow tractors and cleaning trucks. The ContiRV20 Industrial with its
special cut- and chunk-resistant rubber-compound is ideal for heavy-duty forklifts used in harsh
environments.
The displayed press-on-band tire ContiPT18 features a special tread design with deep,
aggressive lug pattern which also includes a modified rib resulting in excellent traction and
improved lateral stability. The all-rounder further convinces with a high load capacity and high
tilting stability. It is perfectly suited for uneven and wet surfaces such as loading docks, outdoor
applications and ramp inclines and is also available as a non-marking solution.
