Sponsorship and Donation Criteria
Thank you for applying for ATCO Gas sponsorship of, or a donation for, your event. We consider all
requests fully and carefully. We will be in touch about your request within 30 days.
Eligibility
To receive donations or sponsorships, your organizations must be:


a registered charity or not-for-profit community service organization, association or society
operate in and benefit an ATCO Gas community
Areas of Focus
ATCO Gas gives top priority to organizations and projects that support our key areas of focus: Fire &
Emergency Services, Community Safety and the Environment.
Limitations
While we respect the efforts of Alberta’s many not-for-profit organizations to build stronger communities,
we are unable to support:

Requests received less than two weeks before an event or after an event has occurred

Health and welfare organizations supported through our ATCO EPIC program (Employee
Participating in Communities)

Conferences, seminars, workshops and conventions, unless relevant to the business of ATCO
Gas

Requests from individuals and individual sport teams

Travel or conference expenses which benefit only one or a few people

Churches or religious organizations, unless offering broad, non-denominational community
services

Courtesy and goodwill advertising, unless as a component of a corporate sponsorship

Local business coalitions if the mandate is to solicit new business to the area, not to enhance or
support existing business

Open-ended sponsorships that do not specify a level of support or project timelines

Private clubs, service clubs and fraternities

Political or partisan organizations or events

Professional or technical associations’ operating expenses

For-profit organizations or unregistered, not-for-profit organizations or businesses

Third-party fundraising groups or initiatives

Student unions or organizations

Fundraising or participatory events, such as benefits, dinners, or ticket purchase
