RESOLUTION #2014-2.18
OF THE GOVERNING BODY
OF THE BOROUGH OF BLOOMINGDALE
DECLARING VARIOUS SNOW STORMS OCCURING ON
OR ABOUT JANUARY 2 AND 21, 2014, AND FEBRUARY 3,
4 AND 13, 2014 AS EMERGENCIES
WHEREAS, on January 2 and 21, 2014, and February 3, 4 and 13, 2014, the Borough of
Bloomingdale and the State of New Jersey have experience winter snow storms; and
WHEREAS, Governor Christie issued an executive order for each of the snow storms
declaring a State of Emergency for the response and recovery efforts required for the storms; and
WHEREAS, it was imperative for the Borough to remove snow and provide other removal
and clean-up work during the snow storms in order to provide access in the case of fire or
emergency; and
WHEREAS, these snow storm clean-up efforts were imperative to the safety and wellbeing of the Borough’s residents; and
WHEREAS, the expenditures by the Borough for the snow storms will be excluded from
the cap for the 2014 budget pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-45.3bb, N.J.S.A. 40A:4-45.4q, and
N.J.S.A. 40A;45-45(b).
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Borough Council of the
Borough of Bloomingdale, in the County of Passaic and State of New Jersey, that the Borough
declares the snow storms of January 2 and 21, 2014 and February 3, 4 and 13, 2014 to be
emergencies for $25,200; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all expenditures for snow storm plowing, clean-up
and any other such removal shall be excluded from the cap for the Borough of Bloomingdale’s
2014 budget; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the
Borough Treasurer, Borough Auditor and the New Jersey Division of Local Government Services
for their information and guidance.
This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
