Dear Raleigh-Egypt High School parents, Hello. My name is Malika Anderson. I’m with the Achievement School District (ASD), and I wrote you not long ago about the ASD’s process for matching Green Dot Public Schools with Raleigh-Egypt High School. I’m writing today to inform you that Raleigh-Egypt High School is NOT joining the ASD next year. During community meetings, we heard a clear commitment to Raleigh-Egypt’s success and were often asked to give the school a chance to make significant improvement this year. As a result, Green Dot is honoring the Raleigh-Egypt community’s request to wait a year. We’re hoping for a great year at Raleigh-Egypt. We encourage you to stay involved and active in your child’s education. Please understand that if Raleigh-Egypt High does not make appropriate progress this year, it is possible that it may be included in the ASD’s school matching process for the 2016-17 school year. No matter what happens, for the students’ sake, we want to see the school improve this year and for years to come. Again, Raleigh-Egypt High School is no longer on the list of schools to join the ASD next school year. We wish you a very successful year, and we thank you for being part of your child’s education. Thanks & Sincerely, Malika Anderson Achievement School District Sincerely, Malika Anderson
