These are the directions on how to complete Part 1 of the Indian culture project. 1. You will need to select a group of three people - each person must come from three different tables in the room. 2. Once the group is selected, you will be asked to log on to google.com and create a separate google account, if you do not already have one. (this is an @gmail account). 3. After all three group members have created an @gmail account, you will will then open up google docs from the google drive. 4. You will need to title the document “Indian Culture Project”. 5. Next, in order to complete the project, you will click on the blue box in the top right corner labeled “share” and change it from “private” to “specific people”. 6. You will then need to provide each other with your @gmail address in order to accept work from each other. Once opened, include all group members’ names on the document.. 7. You will also need to include my @gmail address as I will need to have access to it so I can evaluate (grade) your assignment. My account is: kjpolito13@gmail.com 8. Next, from the three written works about Indian marriages, the group must come come up with three key points they have determined about arranged marriages. These can be completed by making three bullet points. ** EACH PERSON must contribute one bullet point. You will need to read each other’s work and ensure that nothing is repeating and ideas are all original and reflect the focus. Put your initials in ( ) behind your written part. 9. This same process will be conducted for love marriges. ** EACH PERSON must contribute one bullet point. You will need to read each other’s work and ensure that nothing is repeating and ideas are all original and reflect the focus. Put your initials in ( ) behind your written part. 10. The group must then create some sort of chart, table, or graph that explains something about the information collected from the surveys about marriages. ** What is put in the graph must be decided upon by the three group members. - What did the group discover from the findings that was similar? different? - What would be key information that the group wants others to know regarding society’s views on arranged and love marriages? 11. After creating the graph/chart/table, provide a final statement/small paragraph that summarizes the findings this group determined from the material read and collected in the interviews. 12. Work should automatically save. Just ensure it does and inform me of your completion so I can assess your grade. You have two days to complete this assignment. 13. Part 2 of the project will be conducted later this week after watching an Indian film in class.
