Job Title: Environmental Compliance Surveillance Internship Location: Cork, Ireland

Duration: 6 months

Logitech engages in the development of hardware and software products that enable or enhance digital navigation, music and video entertainment, gaming, social networking, and audio and video communication over the Internet, video security, and home-entertainment control worldwide.

The company operates in two segments, Peripherals and Video Conferencing. The Peripherals segment provides various peripherals, including mice, trackballs, keyboards, interactive gaming controllers, multimedia speakers, headsets, and webcams for personal computers; tablet accessories comprising keyboards, keyboard cases and covers, headsets, wireless speakers, earphones, and stands; and Internet communication products, such as Webcams, headsets, video communications services, and digital video security systems. It also offers digital music products consisting of speakers, earphones, and custom in-ear monitors; Harmony line of advanced remote controls for home entertainment systems; and gaming controllers and microphones, and other accessories for gaming consoles.

The Video Conferencing segment designs, manufactures, and markets LifeSize video conferencing products, infrastructure, and services for the enterprise, public sector, and other business markets.

Environmental and Sustainability regulations have increased significantly over recent years and, as a market leader, it is essential that Logitech remain abreast with these developments to understand their impact on our product, policies and processes.

We are looking for a person who has the understanding, curiosity and analytical skills to help review and interpret Sustainability related legislation and outline its potential implications in the context of Logitech’s current operations activities.

Major Duties

As Environmental Compliance Surveillance Intern you have a key role in performing ongoing regulatory and market surveillance activities to ensure that Logitech product development, manufacturing and supply chain practices at owned and partner facilities are in accordance with existing and emerging laws and standards.

You will also have a key role in ensuring that industry regulations are understood and interpreted in the context of how they apply to Logitech. Further to this, you have responsibility for presenting this information so that it may inform and influence company action plans and environmental policy decisions.

You will also be tasked to assist in supporting the project management of implementing the latest developments to comply with international standards, national legislation and industry trends.

Job Description

Responsibility for the collection, analysis, consolidation and communication of existing

Environmental Sustainability related legislation and industry trends.

Utilise the latest third party applications and networks to reach out to industry experts and associations so that Logitech is aware of future regulations and trends which may impact on our activities.

Risk assessments and Planning: Identify legal and regulatory requirements and risks arising from them in the context of how Logitech’s performs its activities in the legal jurisdiction.

Identify new and emerging risks from business practice changes and regulatory developments and assess their impact on the monitoring programmes and plans.

Perform environmental compliance risk assessments and updating risk assessments at the completion of monitoring reviews.

Devise and maintain regulatory risk-based monitoring and surveillance programme

P rovide industry “digest” updates to the Sustainability team relating to trends and regulations which may impact on Logitech.

Skills & Attributes

Qualified (or final year) to primary Degree in Law with emphasis on Environmental and

Industry Regulatory compliance.

Preferably relevant experience or specialised study in Environmental or related Regulatory

Compliance/Operational Risk in Electronics/Pharmaceutical/Medical Device regulated industry.

Analytical decision making and problem solving experience

Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communications at all levels of an organisation and with external parties.

Knowledge of environmental design legislation, Life Cycle assessment and the evolution of worldwide legislation in this area.

Experience using Regulatory sources (SGS, Bureau Veritas, EIATrack, or similar).

Critical and challenging to data sources and understanding the value of reliable data

An enquiring mind, with the ability to assimilate and interpret complex information quickly

• Salary on offer is legal minimum wage
