For those who love pottery and art, studio and gallery visits; jazz, blues and world music; hilltop
villages, rural landscapes lavender and sunflowers, fine food and wine.
Lyon – Paris $4,300
Saturday 18 June. La Cote St Andre.
Arrive at airport/TGV station at Lyon, St Exupery Airport. Pick up van, lunch at Jean
Marc Plantier’s house. Afternoon make pieces for raku firing at Jean Marc Plantier’s
studio towards the end of the tour. Dinner at our chambre d’hote.

Sunday 19 June [La Cote St Andre]
Decorate pieces made the day before, ready for bisque. Visit Lac Paladru and the
Chateau de Virieu in the afternoon. Visit the exhibition at La Grange Dimiere at
Charavines: Ceramic exhibition in a medieval grain store near Lac Paladru. Drinks
/dinner near lake Paladru.

Monday 20 June[Dieulefit]
Head south towards Provence.
Mirmande and Cliousclat [picnic] artist and pottery villages in the Drome region.
Stay in a chambre d’hote near Dieulefit amongst the lavender fields. Visit Dieulefit
and galleries. Lavender and sunflowers. Dinner at our chambre d’hote.

Tuesday 21 June [Dieulefit]
Tuesday morning market at Grignan. Visit Maryse Tavernier and ClaudeWolf. Hands
on workshop at Maryse Tavernier’s studio. Fete de la Musique, annual music
festival. Celebrate at Dieulefit in the evening.

Wednesday 22 June [Dieulefit]
Visit Nadia B Ceramics Gallery; La Maison de la Ceramique, school and exhibition
space and the village Le Poet Laval. Guided tour.

Thursday 23 June [Provence]
Head south to Provence, visiting Vaison la Romaine on the way.
Stay at a chambre d’hote in the region. Visit local pottery studios.

Friday 24 June [Provence]:
Visit the market at Lourmarin on the way to Cassis.
Lunch at the port of Cassis. Explore les Calanques by boat, coves in limestone bays in
the National Park. Swim at the beach in the Mediterranean.

Explore villages of the Luberon:
Provencale market at Apt in the morning. Visit the studio of Olivia Tregaut and
Denis Bouniard at Oppede le Vieux, demonstrations. Visit ceramics studios in
Bonnieux. Dinner included.

Sunday 26 June [La Cote St Andre]
Head back towards La Cote St Andre. Visit villages of interest on the way.
Jazz festival at Vienne in the evening.
Monday 27 June[La Cote St Andre]
Lunch at La Pyramide restaurant at Vienne with master chef Patrick Henriroux.

Workshop at Yves Gaget’s studio. The art of terre vernissee. Lunch at Yves’ house.

Raku day at Jean Marc’s. Glaze and raku fire the pieces you have made earlier.
Dinner at Jean Marc’s with the potters, included.
Thursday 30 June [Paris]
Take the TVG, very fast train from Lyon airport, St Exupery. to Paris.[2hrs] Arrive in
the afternoon to see the annual Potters market at St Sulpice in Paris.
Friday 1 July [Paris]
Le Marche de Potiers at St Sulpice, and galleries in Paris. Farewell dinner in Paris,
included.

At the Jazz Festival we either take a picnic or buy take away on site.
The chambres d’hotes are homes where we stay and breakfast is included.
6 dinners are included, when we go to restaurants you will pay for your own.
Our big lash out extravaganza will be La Pyramide at Vienne at 64 Euros. It is worth
the special occasion at an excellent French restaurant.
Being a small group we can make some changes to the itinerary to suit the weather,
the best music and festival options.
Lunches: we can have a picnic or buy a sandwich or find a little restaurant, to be
decided on how we feel at the time.
Please bring a mobile phone. It will be invaluable when we need to meet up, or if
someone gets lost. Make sure it has international roaming. SMS is cheap and could
save us a lot of anxiety. Alternatively you can buy a French SIM card when in France.
The jazz festival program can be found at www.jazzavienne.com [the new program
comes out in April 2016].
We will be attending 3 concerts. We will not know who is performing then until the
program comes out. During the festival our hours change. We go to bed late and get
up late. We often don’t get home until 1am or so, which means a relaxed morning and
brunch at 11am.
We may juggle the dates within the tour to make sure we see our favourite musicians.

18 years has allowed me openings to places and people you would not otherwise find.
The language is invaluable too! We will have a lot of fun.
