Budget and Finance Meeting
November 5, 2014
1. Meeting Called to Order:

i. Senators Carlson, Jones, Coba, Munoz
ii. Treasurer David
3. Bill # Funding for AIAA at UC Merced
a. Jones: The only thing that bothers me is the format of the bill. Wants to know
when the event is. All we know is that it is in Arizona.
b. Coba: I looked it up but it does not show a time yet. The approximate date is
April 10th-12th.
c. Jones: That makes more sense. Would we need a rollback date for this bill?
d. Treasurer: When do you think is the best time for the rollback date?
e. Jones: other than that, Im okay with it especially for them being 1 year old. They
seem to be a strong club on campus.
f. Munoz: So we are paying for everything they are going to be needing for the
completion. Have they fundraised at all?
g. Jones: That is a good question to ask? It says on the bill that they will be making
some contributions.
h. Coba: Would like to know what kind of students they will be sending as far as
grade level goes.
i. Munoz: I agree with Senator Coba.
j. Coba: Cannot wrap his head around the materials, are they using the cheapest
material possible.
k. Treasurer: If they did use the most expensive materials they need to explain
why?
l. Munoz: Did Senator Zisser look over this bill to make sure the format is okay?
m. Coba: Would also like to know where the price money would go if they did win?
n. Carlson: I agree with pretty much everything you guys have asked.
o. Coba: What would they do if this bill did not get approved.
p. Munoz: Overall I think this event is a good idea but as the bill stands now I
cannot vote in favor of it.

a. Jones: I don’t have a problem with this bill, I know this could have gone through
ICC but because ICC did not have funds this is okay
b. Coba: Likes that the bill is open to the public and bringing the speakers that will
speaking.
c. Munoz: I will be making an amendment to the bill to include the date.
d. Jones: I like that I got a personal email inviting me to the event. I don’t have a
problem with it. Being a poli sci major, I understand the importance of women
in certain fields.

5. Discussion on understanding the Budget
a. Jones: David 6 paragraphs of the budget does not help us understand the
budget.
b. Treasurer: Ill clarify it
