REMINDER: SCHOOL CLOSES AT 3PM ON FRIDAY 17TH JULY FOR THE SUMMER
HOLIDAYS. SCHOOL RE-OPENS ON WEDNESDAY 2ND SEPTEMBER 2015.
PTFA Summer Fayre- Saturday 11th July 11am
The PTFA have been working very hard preparing for the summer fair tomorrow Saturday 11th July.
Please make sure you come along between 11am and 2pm to support our school! Thank you to
everyone for the very generous donations; we are looking forward to another fantastic summer fair,
whatever the weather(!), and hope to see everyone there. If you intend to drive to the summer fair
please consider parking in the Woolston Hub carpark as this should ease congestion around the
school. There will be a lot of ‘foot traffic’ on Saturday and we must ensure that pathways and
entrances
to
school
are
kept
clear
and
safe
for
pedestrian
use.
Reception Trip to Beeston
The children in Reception have gone on their annual trip to the Beeston Outdoor Centre today,
calling at the Ice Cream Farm and Candle Making factory on the way. A big thank you to Mrs Moore
for organising and leading the trip, and to Mrs Shankland, Mrs Peers, Mrs J Moore, Mrs Dale, Mrs
Pendlebury and Mrs Jenks for also accompanying the children. We hope they have a lovely visit!
Mini-Olympics at Kings Leadership Academy
Last Monday a team of Year 5 pupils represented our
school in a ‘Mini Olympics’ event at Kings Leadership
Academy. They took part in various team activities
including Lacrosse, Tag Rugby, Quick Cricket , Sprints
and Long Distance Running. After a closely fought
competition we are very proud to let you know that our
school team won by 1 point!! Well done to Ellie Hughes,
Tea Gaines, Olivia Ratcliffe, Ashlea Butler, Eron
Bowden, James Short, Scott Forster, Kian Dale, Ollie
Cairns and Thomas Brosnahan-Brown.
School Reports
Your child will be bringing home their end of year school report next Tuesday. Please ensure that
after reading it you sign and return the comment sheet provided, and also return the emergency
contact sheet if any of the information has changed and needs updating. Please also contact the
school office if you would like to request any duplicate reports. If you would like to discuss any
aspect of the report with your child’s teacher, please contact the school office to make an
appointment.

Year 2 Dinners & Breakfast Club
Please note that if your child is in Year 2 they will have to start paying for their school dinners from
September which will cost £2.20 per day. This is because children only qualify for Universal Free
School Meals when in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1. If you think your child may continue to
qualify for Free School Meals because you are in receipt of certain benefits, please contact the
school office for more information. Children in Year 3 from September will also be able to start
attending break time breakfast club where they can purchase toast / crumpets and juice all costing
25p each (with a maximum allowable spend of 50p). We use the cashless catering system in school so
breakfast club and school dinners are pre-paid for by crediting money onto your child’s dinner money
account. There are two machines in school that accept cash or alternatively payments can be made
online. You can be reminded of your child’s PIN at any time by contacting the school office.
