What is FBLA? Future Business Leaders of America is an education association with a quarter million students
preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. It is the largest business career student organization in

Why Join FBLA? The main activity of the club is to participate in the Regional Competitions so that you are eligible
to attend the Regional Conference and hopefully qualify to attend the State Conference.
Regional Competitions: These are online tests or performance events. You choose one from a variety of business
topics. See the list at: www.pafbla.org > click on Competitive Events. The online tests are taken at South. The
performance events are done at the Regional Conference.
Regional Conference: Sixteen high schools from our area attend the Regional Conference. If you take an online test or
sign up for a performance event, you get to attend the 1-day Regional Conference held at a local college. At the
conference, you attend 2 business-related seminars, compete in your performance event, and at the end of the
morning, hear the results of all the competitions and learn who qualifies to move on to States!
State Conference: This is a 2-day event held in Hershey, PA in April. If you place in the top 3 to 5 for your event, you
may attend the State Conference. Once again, you compete in your event but this time against other students from
all over PA.

Meetings: Meetings are held twice a month in Room C224, at 2:45 p.m., until January. Dates are posted on the club
webpage. To be considered an Active Member, you must attend 75% of the meetings – attendance will be taken.
Active Membership in FBLA can be included on college or employment applications.
Dues: Membership dues are $25.00 (State $6.00; National $6.00; Local $13.00). Dues must be submitted by our October
8th meeting. You can drop off your dues to any of the business teachers before or after school. Make checks payable
to CB South Activity Fund. Only paid-up active members can apply for a leadership position.
Officers: A President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer will be selected.
Duties:
All officers are expected to (1) attend all meetings, (2) man the FBLA table at the Titan Tent Event.
President – run the meetings, be at the events, and cheerlead for the club, assist teachers with club
activities.
VP – help the President
Secretary – keep notes about what happens at each meeting; help the Pres. and VP
Treasurer –sign all deposit and withdrawal forms
Competitive Events: A complete list of events in which you can compete is listed on the PA FBLA website. You
will be competing against all the other schools in our region. The competitions consist of online tests and will be
held in November or December in C224 (dates to be announced). Winners will be announced at the Regional
Conference in January and are eligible to move on to the State Conference in April.
Important Dates:
September 24 – initial meeting; decide on fundraiser
October 8– general meeting: dues due; officer application due; sign up for local competitive events
October 22– general meeting: fundraiser ends; deadline to sign up for local competitive events
October 16 – Titan Fall Event – FBLA table
November 5 – general meeting: Permission Slip for RLC at BCCC distributed; meet with those who are entering the
State-only competitions; prep for online testing
November 18 – November 21 – local competitive events online testing in Room C224
December 1 – Submissions for State-only competitions are due to Mrs. Kutz
December 3 – general meeting: Permission slip for RLC is due; discuss RLC and States
December 17– general meeting: holiday party; prep for regionals and states
December or January ? (date to be announced): Regional Conference at BCCC
January – payment for those attending States is due to Mrs. Kutz
April– State Leadership Conference, Hershey, PA
