Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, H.E. Ms. Sumitra Mahajan, visits the
Belgian Parliament
Hon’ble Speaker of the Lok Sabha, H.E. Ms. Sumitra Mahajan and the 13
member Indian Parliamentary Delegation, was today (25th June, 2015)
welcomed officially by H.E. Mr. Siegfried Bracke, President of the Lower
House of the Belgian Parliament and H.E. Ms. Christine Defraigne, President of
the Senate of the Belgian Parliament.
Hon’ble Speaker and the Indian Delegation were also welcomed by
President Bracke in the Plenary with applause from all Members of the Lower
House of the Belgian Parliament.
The leaders affirmed their commitment to further strengthen Indo Belgian relations in close association with the India-EU relations. The Belgian
leaders urged India for ushering in the historic ‘European moment’ in India’s
international relations through PM Modi’s early visit to Brussels.
Hon’ble Speaker extended an invitation to President Bracke and President
Defraigne to visit India.
