the Divine Word Missionaries will be with us next weekend to
speak about the work of Divine Word Missionaries, who are an
international Religious Community of more than 6,100 Priests
and Brothers who serve in 70 countries around the world. Deacon
Ivan has served as a missionary in Guatemala, Bolivia, Mexico
and the United States. Deacon Ivan divides his time between his
work at the Divine Word Mission Center in Techny, IL,
preaching, directing retreats and ministering at Parishes in issues
of Social Justice and Peace. This Mission Appeal is part of the
Mission Coop Program of our Archdiocese. Please be generous in
the second collection to help support the missionary work of the
Divine Word Missionaries. Their missionaries serve in some of
the most difficult areas of our world. There are booklets in the
back of church with further information on the missionaries’
works.
On Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of
Christ/Corpus Christi on June 22nd we will have an hour of
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament immediately following the

Christ.

Vacation Bible School: Kennedy Heights
Presbyterian Church. It was great fun last year and we hope to
have Upper School helpers as well as primary grade and preschool participants. The dates are June 23rd through June 27th in
the evening. Scripture classes will be held on Thursday evening,
June 12th and 26th in the Parish Office. This is a “get-morecomfortable with the Bible” class, reviewing mostly what the
participants want to know.
Nativity families who shopped at Kroger this year
have helped to earn over $2000 for our school: It is time to reenroll your Plus Card for Nativity. There is no cost to you and it
does not affect your fuel points. If your card is already registered:
log on at www.krogercommunityrewards.com then log onto your
account; designate Nativity as your community rewards
beneficiary (our organization number is 80396.) If your card is
not registered yet or you need a card: log onto
www.krogercommunityrewards.com to create a Kroger PLUS
card account (if you need a card first get one at a Kroger
customer service desk); click create an account in the upper right
corner of the homepage; follow the prompts to create your log-in,
and password and to register your Kroger PLUS card; now swipe
your Kroger PLUS card every time and a percent of your
purchase will go to Nativity School. Please feel free to contact
Kelly Leanza at kelly.buschur@gmail.com or 841-1214 with any
questions. Thank you for supporting Nativity!
Nativity Round the World Beer Tasting: Join Nativity
school families, parishioners and alumni for a Round the World
Beer Tasting on Thursday, June 26th from 6:00 to 9:00 pm in the
New Gym and Courtyard. In keeping with Nativity’s global
awareness, the tasting will feature cheese paired with beers
including IPA’s, ales and lagers from six continents around the
world! Admission is $18 if paid in advance and $20 at the door.
Admission includes six tasting tickets and snacks. Additional
beer, non-alcoholic beverages and pizza will be available for
purchase. To register for admission, go to https://nativitycincinnati.weshareonline.org/BeerTasting or send a check or cash
with your name to Julie Abraham, Development Coordinator,
Nativity Parish, 5935 Pandora Avenue, 45213. Many volunteers
are needed to staff this event. To volunteer please go to
www.SignUpGenius.com/go/30E0D48ACA929A75nativity/16267658. All volunteers can purchase a tasting
admission $10 on the day of the event. For more information on

or Molly Schwartz at mollyschwartz@ymail.com. This beer
tasting is sponsored by the Nativity Alumni Association. All
proceeds generated will go towards installing enhanced lighting,
ceiling fans and carpet in classrooms at school. Please encourage
friends and family to attend.
The Nativity Men’s Club will be singing the 11:00
Mass on Sunday, June 29th. All men who are members of the
Nativity family are welcome to participate. We will practice at
the church on June 18th and June 25th at 8:00 pm. This is our 3rd
performance and the experience has been universally positive for
the 30+ men who sing. Please email Bob Jennings at
bjennings@datalliance.com with any questions or if you would
like to sign-up.

Congratulations to Sr. Alice Gerdeman (Sr. Janet’s community
member) who was recently elected to the role of Provincial for
the Sisters of Divine Providence of the American Province (i.e.
“CEO”.) Congratulations also as she celebrates her Golden
Jubilee of religious profession. The province celebrates on June
15th, but we will celebrate the event at Nativity on September 7 th,
a date closer to the actual profession anniversary of August 29 th.
Sr. Alice appreciates prayers offered for both events.
