Key Activities 1. Co-ordinates a program of seminars, lectures, workshops, events, and conferences to support the training and educational development of the Trent community 2. Provides guidance and support to instructors, departments, and workgroups in the area of pedagogical development, including the inclusion of universal design principals and the infusion of technology and other innovations. 3. Provides support to graduate students and faculty members wishing to develop their teaching portfolios/dossiers. 4. Provides consultations on teaching and learning to support instructors and departments including but not limited to teaching observations, focus groups, peer coaching opportunities, and development of teaching assessments 5. Maintains knowledge of current educational development trends and teaching scholarship and mobilizes this knowledge into practice, including through professional learning, program development, and special initiatives. 6. Maintains teaching experience through workshops, guest speaking and other teaching opportunities that arise. 7. Participates in the CTL budget development and allocation of financial resources to programs and initiatives including endowment funds and external grants. Oversees the management of budgets and day-to-day business of the Centre. 8. Identifies and assists in the application for potential funding opportunities for the Centre. 9. Co-ordinates Centre paper and electronic communications, including newsletters as well as faculty profiles in the form of video, web and print communications. 11. Participates in the design and content development of the Centre’s web site. 12. Compiles and disseminates information on instructional development (literature, research, workshops/conferences, funding opportunities in the area of pedagogical innovation and research). 13. Acts as Trent University's representative and contact for requests for information on instructional development. 14. Other duties as assigned. Experience Required - A minimum of three years’ experience working at a university is required. Postsecondary teaching experience and demonstrated commitment to teaching and learning in higher education Interest in, and some proficiency with web communications; handheld, tablet and assistive devices infusion in teaching/learning; and video capture, editing and use. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Excellent writing skills. Ability to work independently and as a team player. Ability to foster and create a team environment.
