Contact: hazel.reid@canterbury.ac.uk Keynote Speech Overview The key note presentation will briefly outline the three research projects that have informed the speaker's approach to narrative career counselling. It will make reference to the constraints of introducing any new approach into career guidance and counselling practice, but will also highlight the benefits. The model will be explained and the presentation will be illustrated with examples from practice: drawing on clients' stories, the evaluation of practitioners and feedback from research participants in the current study. Workshops The workshops will provide an opportunity to practise elements of the approach. Guidance will be given and activities will be suggested. Time will be built into the workshops for delegates to reflect on their initial experience of using a narrative career counselling model. After small group feedback to the whole group, further questions will be raised and discussed in a plenary session.
